On this Patriot Day, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the bravery of those who responded with courage and selflessness. It’s also a reminder of the emotional impact that day had on so many—survivors, first responders, and families who still carry the weight of grief and trauma.

We HAVE to center those greatly impacted when it comes to conversations about public safety. Survivors of violence and trauma have firsthand knowledge of the challenges and needs within their communities. They know best what solutions will lead to healing and breaking the cycles of violence and trauma. By prioritizing their voices and experiences, we can create more effective, compassionate, and lasting solutions.

Together, we can create a supportive community where healing and empowerment are at the forefront. Remember, you are not alone, and there are people who care deeply about your well-being. Whether it's through counseling, support groups, coaching, or simply having someone to talk to, there are numerous ways to begin your journey to recovery. Additionally, consider reaching out to organizations that specialize in providing resources and support for survivors. These organizations often offer free legal advice, emergency shelter, and crisis hotlines that operate 24/7.
