Are you not going to ICA this year? This can be due to: sustainability concerns, because your paper was not accepted, because you did not submit anything, because you are unable to take enough time off - since you are in the middle of your teaching semester - to make it a meaningful trip to Australia, because you cannot afford the travel to Australia or a variety of other possibilities ... BUT you still want to socialize with other COM scholars? Come to our two-day European Communication Science Event - 20 & 21st of June. You can submit "rejected papers", you can submit "remote presentations" that you want to do for a live audience, you can propose a panel, you can submit an idea for an alternative activity (i.e. movie screening, brainstorm session, workshop) and many more things! 🆕The #RegionalInnovationValleys (RIVs) initiative is an ambitious component of the #NewEuropeanInnovationAgenda (NEIA), aimed at enhancing innovation across the European Union by fostering stronger regional innovation ecosystems. This initiative is instrumental in addressing key EU challenges such as reducing dependence on fossil fuels, boosting global food security, advancing digital transformation, enhancing healthcare, and promoting circular economies.💯 With a substantial allocation of €116 million from both the #EuropeanInnovationEcosystems (EIE) programme under #HorizonEurope and the #InterregionalInnovationInvestments (I3) Instrument of the #EuropeanRegionalDevelopmentFund, the initiative underscores a strategic investment in innovation. This funding will support 72 regions in their journey to become RIVs, contingent upon the formalization of grant agreements. The engagement of these regions signifies a proactive effort to fortify their innovation policies and investments. This is not only a financial investment but also a structural one, aiming to bridge the innovation disparity across the EU by linking regions of varying development and innovation capabilities. Furthermore, the EU plans to extend its support through community-building activities, matchmaking events, and targeted communication actions, which are essential for nurturing interregional collaboration. This collaborative framework is expected to enhance the capacity of these regions to direct and coordinate innovation activities effectively. Two years of research on "Transnational Technical Communication" and working on defining the field is finally materialized. I started this research in the spring of 2023 which took almost 2 years from conceptualizing the idea to putting it out there in a print. But here I am, so proud, happy and humble. Here is how you cite me in APA format: Ghimire, A. (2024). Understanding Transnational Technical Communication in Technical and Professional Communication: What Do You Mean When You Use the Word “Transnational”? Technical Communication Quarterly, 1–24.
