DXC Looms are therefore ideally suited for stable transmission of digital DMX signals, even over long cable runs. The excellent layer stranding of the elements to the cable core maintains their structure even under high loads and an aluminium-coated foil (PiMF) effectively protects the individual pairs from electromagnetic interference. The black PVC outer jacket is very robust and yet offers pleasant flexibility. Black chrome-plated XLR 5p plugs by KLOTZ are used as connectors. The high G-forces inside the gantry of a CT scanner make it a tough environment for electronics. This case study describes how our high voltage experts developed a custom power supply for a next-generation photon-counting detector in this vital piece of medical equipment when the customer couldn’t meet their application requirements with off-the-shelf products. The AE team also includes experts in medical imaging technology, so they were familiar with the application-specific electrical and mechanical requirements. Our solution enabled the customer to move away from legacy discrete 1kV high voltage power supplies powering individual detectors and instead power the entire array from a single HVPS solution.
