When discussing empathy in our communication, we often overlook a major culprit—banks. A recent incident has left me anxious and dismayed. Despite paying my dues and emailing my transaction receipts to Kotak Mahindra Bank through their official email ID, I continue to receive numerous calls demanding that I send the receipt via WhatsApp (on random numbers that are relentlessly messaging me). When I inquired about the reason for this, the executives threatened me, saying they wouldn't update my payment status (Yes, they are threatening me despite my payment being completed) When I shared my experience on X, I discovered countless similar and even worse stories from other customers. Testifying to the fact that it's not a case of miscommunication from one or two executives, but a routine practice to threaten people (often with life-altering consequences). I cannot imagine the plight of those who are crushed by capitalism, forced to borrow loans because paltry salaries do not keep up with rising inflation, and then endure such threats daily—all while working 8-10 hours a day. It's crucial for banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank to understand how such threats affect people who are already stressed by the demands of capitalism. Kotak Mahindra Bank Reshuffles TOP MANAGEMENT... Kotak Mahindra Bank has elevated KVS Manian as Joint Managing Director (JMD) of the Bank replacing ex-JMD Dipak Gupta, and Shanti Ekambaram as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) from March 1. Meanwhile, there were reports suggesting that Manian could be one of the candidates for the MD & CEO post at Federal Bank, due to be vacated in September 2024. However, Kotak Mahindra Bank’s latest move should potentially eliminate any such risk. Analysts believe such a rejig by Kotak Mahindra Bank should possibly alleviate any immediate risk of top management attrition, but the new MD will have to face many challenges.
