What are Rendezvous and Proximity Operations? Simply put, Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) are a set of in-orbit maneuvers spacecraft perform when they approach and operate near each other. Since the 1960s, RPO has been used in civil space operations for various maneuvers, including docking, refueling, and resupplying space stations. As the new space economy evolves, RPO is emerging in many forms, addressing challenges such as on-orbit servicing, debris removal, in-space manufacturing and assembly, among others. RPO is one of the most challenging space missions to master. In today's increasingly contested space environment, mastering RPO isn't just a technical challenge—it's a critical capability for maintaining space security through sustained space maneuver. As new threats emerge, the ability to safely approach, inspect, and gather intelligence on potentially hostile or unknown objects in orbit, particularly if they are highly agile, is vital for protecting the assets and interests of the US and its allies. True Anomaly's Jackal Orbital Vehicle (AOV) was explicitly designed for this mission and is at the forefront of these efforts. By leveraging our Mosaic Operating System, Jackal will execute precise RPO maneuvers to provide real-time situational awareness and actionable intelligence, helping decision-makers respond effectively to evolving threats. As we continue to innovate, True Anomaly remains committed to advancing space security and protecting the future of the space domain. #SpaceSecurity #RPO #SpaceTech #NationalSecurity #Defensetech

Global Deep-Space Advanced Radar Capability extends AUKUS partnership Northrop Grumman Corporation is developing the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) that will track objects in the geosynchronous orbit, protecting critical US and allied satellites. DARC is a global network of three advanced ground-based sensors to be operated in collaboration with AUKUS alliance partners, the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. Leaders from the three countries recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to host and operate DARC as a collaboration to expand beyond what individual nations could achieve alone in one of the most critical domains for future security. Northrop Grumman’s highly advanced DARC technology will operate 24/7, in all weather conditions, filling critical gaps in the ground-based element of the space domain awareness architecture enterprise. #DARC #US #Satellite #Space https://lnkd.in/gHEGu8zR

Quick Take: Supply Chain Concerns Loom Over Space Development Agency's Ambitious Satellite Program The Space Development Agency (SDA) is facing potential roadblocks in its plan to launch a massive constellation of satellites due to supply chain constraints. These constraints, stemming from reliance on single suppliers and limited manufacturing capacity, were evident in the delayed deployment of the Tranche 0 satellites. To avoid further setbacks, SDA is urging prime contractors to diversify their supply chains and secure critical components well in advance. #SDA #SpaceForce #SatelliteConstellation #SupplyChainManagement #DefenseIndustry

#Satellite assembly isn't the longest part of getting your mission to orbit, usually it's all the design work leading up to it. But standard satellite buses greatly reduce your time and cost to space. Here's how that works in practice. Try our satellite configurator below. #NewSpace #nanosatellites #smallsats

3moI completely agree with being bullish on the EO industry, especially now that commercial launch is really taking off. That said, it's going to be very interesting to watch how security policy catches up. The capabilities these commercial vendors can provide are incredible but are they equally investing in their ability truly investigate potential customers in order to find adversary intelligence cut outs or worse?
