A Zero-energy building is a building that is able to produce enough energy via renewable sources to meet it's energy demands. It uses a combination of energy-efficient design, renewable energy sources, and energy-saving technologies to achieve this goal. The benefits of zero-energy buildings include reduced energy costs, reduced environmental impact, and improved occupants comfort and health. To achieve a zero energy state, buildings must use passive design strategies, such as proper orientation and thermal mass, to reduce heating and cooling loads, and incorporate renewable energy sources, such as solar. Today is #InternationalDayOfCleanEnergy, and we are proud to be playing our part in promoting renewable energy and protecting our planet. Through our installation services for wind and solar power generation, as well as anaerobic digestion, we are actively helping our customers transition to renewable energy sources. In 2023 alone we successfully connected over 80 megawatts of renewable energy! This not only reduces carbon footprint, but also helps to drive the shift towards a more sustainable future.
