What is your why? I find myself asking this question when making choices about what I am involved in and what I choose to do. I have found that in many aspects of my life my why is to help others. I love doing this for my family, my community, and my clients every day. Here is a great article on how to find your why...https://lnkd.in/eReYkkbV #krisbarnettrealtor #foreveragent #bhhsneproperties #familyfirst #community #volunteering

A blank page can be very daunting. After months of consultations with staff and volunteers across CHAS, I sat down a couple of weeks ago with a blank page in front of me to write the new CHAS Volunteering Strategy. It's been a huge team effort which has resulted in a strategy that will not only support the development of volunteering in CHAS but will also help us to support more children and families who need us. #volunteering #strategydevelopment

That's right! Because it is National Volunteer Month, April is a great time to think about how you might give back to your community. You never know how much of an impact even a little bit of your time can have. Gaining experience, making new friends, and making a difference in your community are all possible through volunteering. Discover an organization or cause that matters to you, and then offer your time and expertise to help accomplish their mission. #amyra #amyrallc #volunteer #volunteering #openvolunteer #volunteerwork #volunteerism

If that’s a little daunting, you can take comfort in the fact that it’s only 37 until your Redland Disability Network facilitators Lauren, Allison, David & Jim host the first networking meeting of the year. Drop these dates in your calendar now so you don’t miss any of these fabulous events. #networking #redlands #professionaldevelopment #networkingworks #communitydevelopment #volunteering #networkingopportunity

Audience is key? I’ve supported many Shed applications! The majority from Men, although many too that are open to anyone with a few hours or skills to give! Whilst LinkedIn is fab, I’m going to be honest, the majority of men (women, any gender) shedders that I have met tend to be informally organised, do it in their free time, as an escape sometimes, recently retired or at a loose end! etc etc and definitely not on linked in (just saying)! So, to keep things authentic, let’s not overcomplicate the benefits of the Shedders, as many have received our funding. Whilst top tips are useful, to be honest, I’d recommend shedders talk to each other and share impact and talk to each other when looking for funding. I’m a regional officer and part of my role is to make applying for funding less complicated. As part of my role I therefore connect Shedders to each other to demystify the application and learning process 😁
Men's sheds offer people the chance to connect with each other while making and mending things. There are currently over 600 sheds across the UK. By creating space for casual, shoulder-to-shoulder conversation, sheds can help men open up. We've taken a look at men's sheds from across the UK to capture key things that might help you if you are thinking of opening one in your community. Here's just some of our top tips, but for more useful tips, examples and feedback, read our article: 👇 https://ow.ly/BZun50Qwiik #MensShed #Volunteering #MensShedScotland #NationalLottery #MensMentalHealth Scottish Men's Sheds Association
