Is your audience able to keep up with the pace that you are speaking at? Think of your pace during a presentation as though you were carrying out a multicourse meal - For your guests to get the most enjoyment out of the meal, you cannot force them to eat all of the courses at once or in rapid succession. You might overwhelm their taste buds if their stomach doesn’t fill up first! It is the same with speaking - If you speak at too fast a pace, your audience may not be able to mentally digest and process the information you are trying to share with them. During your presentation, using strategic pauses can be an excellent way to emphasize information, build emotion, or allow your audience to simply process the vast information you plan to share. #Vautier #Pauses #Pace #Silence #Communications #Tips

One of my kids in school started a movement. It began with his peculiar laughter. Unique, light-hearted, dramatic and infectious it was, such that the whole class would join in. He had a way of prolonging his bout of laughter even when others had moved on to a serious matter. As innocently as it was, it was distracting. Soon enough, he had succeeded in grooming his disciples- people who wanted to laugh like him. Like, with the same pitch, tone etc. (amazing how some people can be influenced by seemingly little things!) I knew something had to be done, nipped in the bud- when a particular kid known for his tantrums spearheaded the discipleship. The whole class wasn't having it. Master Jay (not real name), when did you start laughing so loudly and dramatic like that? Why is yours being frowned upon by others? Does thou seeketh more attention? 😂 The young man said he loved the way the other kid laughed and wanted to laugh like him. Why? Because everyone else seemed to like him? But you're not that kid! You are you and he is himself. He is not you and you are not him. Why try to be something or someone you're not? Originality sells. Anything else makes you second best, a counterfeit. You don't want to be another "him" or "her" That defeats the purpose of YOUR existence. Bad publicity may be trendy but it is still bad publicity. Work on your character. Let others be drawn in by your good qualities. Avoid comparisons. That's the mistake most of us make - strategising on how to be like other people instead of how to be the better versions of ourselves. Stick to your game. Today, 7th December is World Image Day! Here’s to say that #YourImageMatters, and is an important aspects of your personal and professional brand. We always emphasize that it’s from the Inside-out. Who are you? What’s your purpose? It’s not just about one’s appearance; It includes communication, behaviour (etiquettes, protocol, chivalry etc), and digital footprint. We thought to celebrate this day by sharing a glimpse of a session we had with a client. We were handling practical tea etiquettes. Thank you, Ms. Faith Awori. It was an honour serving you. ❤️😊 In this particular section of the video, she was sharing the things she learnt about stirring tea. The ‘proper’ way to stir is to place the spoon at a 12 o’clock position in the cup and softly fold the liquid back and forth 2-3 times to the 6 o’clock position, and avoid leaving the tea spoon in the cup. When your tea spoon isn’t being used, pop it back on the saucer, to the right of the cup. Our Founder, Ms. Faith Fetaru took her through this class/session.
