Last weeks sessions at #TallinnBlackNights film festival and the Industry@Tallinn Industry Innovation Forum 2023 included some important insights and valuable learnings i've recapped for you all below. As Gale Anne Hurd so beautifully put it in her chat with Sten. Hope is a powerful driver, and these sessions gave me hope, for Ukraine, for Europe, for the creative industries, and for humanity! 🇺🇦 Takeaways from Session 1, Europe and Ukraine’s Solidarity in Film & Industry 631 Days Later include: - Long term partnership building with Ukrainian organisations builds long term support and resilience, for both Ukrainian and European creative and film industries - everyone benefits. - There are great examples of innovation and boundary breaking (collaboration, timelines, technologies) we can look to and use as blueprints elsewhere. HT to the #Murals team. - There are opportunities on the table to collaborate and seek funding for new partnerships and projects. Be inspired and seek them out. ⏯ You can watch the full session here: https://lnkd.in/eBrD2WHg 🤖 Takeaways from Session 2, The European Entertainment Landscape Redefined. Exploring Film, Gaming & Industry During the Gen AI Explosion, include: - Fear and concern regarding #AI is normal, but there are now frameworks in place to help to take risks and be innovative more safely. Find out how you can use them. - Get started small and soon. Take a coupe of weeks and a handful of Euros and start learning and playing with the latest tools. You don't need to invest big time to get to grips, but you do need to not get left behind. HT to Curious Refuge. - There is still work to be done on policies to protect identity, likeness and copyright. We need more voices from across the ecosystem and industry, not just the large players, to inform these. ⏯ You can watch the full session here: https://lnkd.in/eFvSH7pg Thanks to Sten Saluveer, #CreativeEuropeMedia and all the speakers who joined us, including Anna Bulakh Mykhailo Glubokyi Maciej Żemojcin Manon Duverger Radoslawa Bardes Christina Caspers-Römer Sander Saar Mads Damsbo Jan Rosner Curious Refuge 👏 #AI #Ukraine #Europe #Solidarity #Resilience #creativeindustries #film #filmmaking #gaming

Wow, what AI can do:
The videos below come out of OpenAIs text-to-video generator Sora and are a little bit mind-blowing. I arrived today at Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) for the Think Tank session on "Generative AI in the Film and Series Industry" SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE is hosting with European Film Market – EFM on Sunday - and I honestly feel a little bit stumped. Two weeks ago on a panel at TV Drama Vision at Göteborg Film Festival we idly speculated about the timeline until AI-generated videos won't be distinguishable from "real film". Going with the generals consensus I offered 12-16 months. Slightly off, as it looks. By almost a year. AI-driven tools could enhance the accessibility and global reach of Swedish films. Automated translation, captioning, and audio description powered by AI could make Swedish cinematic narratives more inclusive and widely understood internationally. This could strengthen Sweden's reputation for producing thought-provoking, culturally significant works. Additionally, AI's ability to personalize storytelling based on audience preferences could allow Swedish filmmakers to cater to diverse domestic and international viewers better. Adaptive, interactive films leveraging AI could introduce new modes of cinematic engagement. However, ethical considerations around data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the preservation of artistic integrity will need to be carefully navigated by the Swedish film industry. Collaborations between filmmakers, technologists, and policymakers will be crucial in shaping the responsible implementation of AI within the national context.
Cracking start to Q3 with this clever bunch from Stockholm Film School. Great questions and discussions about AI and future of filmmaking and how this will impact our industry in Sweden, working together as a team, leadership skills, how to accept rejections and keep the doors open for future opportunities and keep moving forward, learning practical skill sets, learn everything, stay curious and take care to create a positive working culture and much more. Thank you Anders Rune for the opportunity to visit and share.

Chief AI Officer at CEO Coaching International | Transforming Executive Leadership with AI Innovation
Sora's technical achievement and creative potential amaze me! It’s been great to watch their initial showcased videos from a technical perspective, but now we get to see how artists can harness this power and blend the creative with the technical. This is just a first glimpse of what AI-powered video creation can do, and it's mind-boggling to think about how transformative it could be for artists of all kinds. Visualizing any concept instantly and iterating on ideas with no limits is a game changer! I can't wait to see what innovative work is produced as tools like Sora evolve and advance. “Air Head” was my favorite. What are your thoughts on the creative potential of AI video generation? #AIVideo #Sora #CreativeTechnology #Innovation #FutureOfArt #DigitalArt

Technology has always excited me, the possibilities are endless. However, we all feel threatened by something new and AI is not different. I feel we need to take control, start thinking outside of the box and embrace this new technology, be creative as we have always been, allowing ourselves to build a new dimension of content creation, which is both exciting and scary. Our industry is so passionate, creative, powerful and progressive, Sora will be a super-tool for all the creatives out there to implement something different. Don’t be scared of the technological changes, embrace them and you might just find the next best thing… “Sora is at its most powerful when you’re not replicating the old but bringing to life new and impossible ideas we would have otherwise never had the opportunity to see. Paul Trillo, Director While we have many improvements to make to Sora, we're already getting a glimpse of how the model can help creatives bring ideas to reality. As great as Sora is at generating things that appear real - what excites us is its ability to make things that are totally surreal. shy kids An interesting perspective and I’m very excited to see where this goes as a creative tool” #sora #ai #film #entertainment #openai #creativetool
