Versatile Communications Specialist | Driving Marketing, Operations, & Process Improvements | Dedicated to Training & Development | Boosting Strategic Efficiency

Not enough people talk about how graduating from college can be a really scary time. It can feel overwhelming to suddenly be expected to have a job lined up to launch into your career. (Not to mention the looming pressure of student debts.) While many jobs we work on are for more seasoned professionals at Primary Services, I'm very excited to share we will be conducting another Open House for recent grads! If you're interested in getting feedback on your resume, your interview skills, and learning about real job opportunities then send me a message to set you up with a recruiter. If you want to learn what I wish I had known as a first-time job hunter then keep reading... 1. Job titles denote seniority. This might seem like a "no duh" but understanding how they communicate level of experience is helpful during the job search. Coordinators, Assistants, and "Junior" titles are more entry-level and expect maybe an internship or max a few years of experience. Associates average around 3+ years of experience (but this one can vary wildly depending on the industry.) Specialists and Managers are usually expected to have around 5+ years of experience in the corporate world. Keep this in mind as you job hunt. It'll probably be a waste of your time to look at most jobs with the title specialist. 2. Networking really is helpful. Don't underestimate the simple power of talking to professionals in your desired field or connecting with people at the companies you are interested in working for. 3. Do your due diligence on companies you are applying for. Don't just apply for the first job you see that says "college grads!" Make sure you look at their website and research the people who work there. There are scams out there so do be cautious. 4. Don't give up!
