Should the government introduce a strategy to encourage and invest in charitable giving? For many commentators, the answer is yes. In a recent report from the Charitable Aid Foundation, they make a number of suggestions about how this might work and the impact it could have. The idea involves bringing the charitable efforts of businesses, governments, philanthropists, and other sections of society together in one clear direction, and one coordinated approach - both to be aligned with set national goals. I’ve outlined the key recommendations of the report below, and you will find a link to the full report towards the end of the slides. #civilsociety #thirdsector #charityvision

🆕 Reflections from Joffe Charitable Trust on 145+ grantseeker reviews. Joffe Charitable Trust has received over 145 anonymous grantseeker reviews on #GrantAdvisorUK. CAST Programme Lead Ellen Smyth caught up with the Trust's Grants Manager George Pope to hear how feedback from grantseekers helps the team find ways to continuously improve their approach to grantmaking, including how they are responding to feedback about their eligibility criteria. George also reflects on why it is important for funders to keep grantseekers informed about how their feedback informs change - and why she thinks replying to the anonymous feedback is an important part of bridging the feedback loop 👉 https://buff.ly/3UXp3qg And we’d love to hear from you! Funders: what support do you need to start gathering feedback from grantees? Grantseekers: how do you feel about the changes funders have made so far in response to grantseeker feedback? One of our guiding principles at All Access is: treat charitable organizations as vendors. This can feel cold and calculated, seemingly at odds with the heart we all have for making a difference in the places that need it most. But we want to hold both together: maximize efficiency while retaining relationship. It's deep care AND treating charitable organizations as vendors, so we can foster greater efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness. This approach doesn't mean losing compassion but maximizing the impact of each dollar contributed. It also means far better outcomes for the people we are trying to help. You can read the whole article we recently wrote exploring this very important issue in detail: https://lnkd.in/dQez4Rxq
