Indeed the best way to find #Horizon consortia partners is face-to-face meeting. And I wish you all best of luck in defining the joint research subject and the right funding program. Another visit took place in beautiful Līvāni town, known to be emerging #Photonics hub in Latvia, where GTI Medical team met with Lightguide partners and have seen their advanced optic fiber manufacturing site. THERE AND BACK AGAIN I have learned the following from my recent quick trip to Prague. 1️⃣ Our former capital is a beautiful, lively, big city with excellent atmosphere which I always love visiting. 2️⃣ The ice hockey championship quarter finals 🏒 were the second best event taking place on Prague today - after the conforum seminar on medical devices (where I was fortunate enough not to be put against Team Canada🇨🇦). 3️⃣ The AI Act will have a profound impact on the medical devices market. The industry, already struggling with the regulatory obligations imposed by the MDR and IVDR, is facing another gargantuan challenge. At the moment, we probably have more questions than answers. Will AI-based medical devices face double certification from 2027? Will there be more notified bodies by that time? Will they be equipped to assess AI-specific obligations? Will the EU be a competitive market for AI technologies in healthcare, or are we pulling a hand brake for several years? And in case of the latter, is that actually a bad thing? 4️⃣ I am immensly grateful for the opportunity to speak at the seminar attended by the representatives of the key stakeholders in the medical devices industry in the Czech Republic. On my way back home, am already thinking on how to improve my presentation on the similar topic for the next Tuesday’s seminar, this time on my home turf in Bratislava🇸🇰. #aiact #medicaldevices #mdr #ivdr
