Women and Girls should be safe wherever they are at whatever time of the day or night - Standard 2 of the #DorsetWomensCharter We were part of a group with 6 other organisations who joined together to demand action in an Open Letter to #DorsetPolice #DorsetCouncil and #BCPCouncil We believe the public sector could and should be doing more to join-up prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls #VAWG We recognise that there are some great things happening, particularly by voluntary organisations and charities in #Dorset - but unless all these activities are strategically aligned and working together to #Prevent violent crimes against women, we simply cannot reach the standard that women and girls deserve. We believe we need #CultureChange #Education #EarlyIntervention against perpetrators, prevention of #RepeatOffending, #ZeroTolerance #MaleAllyship programmes #Transparency of joined-up #Data and #Collaboration across systems and communities. We know what is ALREADY happening, the point is, it is not working as #SexualCrime figures are on the rise in #Dorset and women deserve better. https://lnkd.in/ePwDWJQF The Open Letter can be found at linktr.ee/DorsetWomen Jayne Jackson Soroptimist International of Bournemouth Donna Anne Pace Julie Johns MBE Victoria Sheppard ACTS FAST Bournemouth Daily Echo Dorset Echo BBC News ITV

Founder/Director Not Our Native Daughters- Missing, Murdered & Indigenous Women & Girls - Human Trafficking in Indian Country. Subject - Matter - Expert in Indigenous Issues - Public Speaker - Trainer - Advocate!
Male representation is essential in the MMIW movement because it fosters a sense of shared responsibility and unites communities in the fight against violence. When men advocate for change, it challenges the structures that enable violence and demonstrates that this is not solely a women’s issue—it’s a human issue. Men’s involvement can help break cycles of violence, create safer spaces, and inspire other men to take action. By standing together, men and women can work to dismantle harmful stereotypes, uplift Indigenous voices, and ensure that future generations live in a world where justice and equality prevail. It’s time for all of us to take an active role in the movement. Indigenous Model: @thelittlenativethatcould Maya & llocano To support content like this, please consider a donation of any amount. Former Detective, Programme Consultant “Three Girls”, Activist, Humanitarian, Public Speaker, Founder of The Maggie Oliver Foundation
I couldn’t say this any better myself… and our challenges at The Maggie Oliver Foundation each and every day is in fighting for victims who are being failed massively by “the system”, silenced, even criminalised for daring to call this out! And almost every case we highlight at Senior levels within policing could be the next fatality. And that’s why our work highlighting publicly where these failures occur are so critical to what we do. With knowledge comes awareness, with awareness comes public pressure, and then the next step must be long overdue systemic change. Not more empty words and promises, and yet more pointless protestations that “lessons have been learnt”, when in truth they haven’t!! Action. Now! And until that time, our critical work exposing this neglect, cover ups and even corruption at the highest levels continues. Every day!
Tonight the BBC and ITV and Channel 4 all aired documentaries of 3 young women murdered- #SarahEverard and #AliceRuggles and #FawziyahJaved Two are #domesticabuse murders by a husband and an expartner and the other a #policeofficer It is devastating… shocking… unbearable… They did nothing but trust men they were supposed to. They were all avoidable deaths - the justice system and our community failed all three and so many more…. All their names read by #JessPhillipsMP in parliament each year… We need immediate seismic change to ❌ our #criminaljustice system - the police, prosecution and courts - and their response to violence against women /children and domestic abuse with actions and not plans/promises (read #HerStoryHerJustice Advance Charity https://lnkd.in/gjsRwF9U) ❌ our awareness and understanding of #maleviolence against women and #domesticabuse - recognizing it, taking it seriously, calling it out! with zero tolerance (if we can do it for drink driving we can do it for this!) ❌ our acceptance of societal stereotypes and systemic #sexism which results in women and girls being valued less, abused and unsafe Today it is hard to feel that we have made progress towards #genderequality and celebrate #iwd2024 …

An excellent summary and post Niki Scordi - thank you! Last week as #jessphillipsMP read out in Parliament the names of women murdered by men I sat silently listening like I do every year but then I got frustrated. Why were the benches around her so empty? Where were our MPs? When women try to leave domestic abusers the risk to life significantly increases. At domestic abuse organisations we encourage planning your exit for this reason. But for refuge there is a waiting list! A waiting list when your life is at risk! The housing backlog that chokes up the system and means refuge spaces for women needing help today are delayed is not a woman's issue it's a Parliament issue. As is the issues outlined by Niki. Ask your MP where they were? #genderequality #genderbasedviolence #charitytrustee #investinwomen #investinhumanrights

The Homosexual Lobby thinks that they own the month and all the messaging during it. They act like it’s practically illegal to speak out against their perverse ideology. Well I’ve got a message for them: June is not “Pride” Month! Sin and perversion do not get a month to be celebrated – not in my country. We have to expose the truth about the Homosexual Agenda: It’s violent and dangerous. It is directly harmful to children. And it’s all a lie. No one can change their gender or their biology – not through surgeries or dangerous hormone cocktails or even through delusion. But there are even darker lies in the Transgender Agenda. Not only will it not change one’s gender even a little bit, but it sets its victims up for a lifetime of pain and misery. It ruins health and sterilizes people. That’s why Public Advocate is dedicated to reclaiming the month of June back from the radical Homosexual Agenda. First we started by launching our own brand, LMNOP+ Month. A tongue-in-cheek jab at their own nonsense alphabet soup, our acronym stands for the Lifestyles of Mainstream, Normal, Ordinary People. It’s been a huge success, with hundreds of thousands of people embracing it. Under this umbrella, we have launched media campaigns and boycotts of major corporate brands that go “woke” every June. Public Advocate is going to D.C. to stand toe-to-toe against the biggest "Gay Pride" Parade in the country. We will not be silenced. Are you with me? For the Family, HON. EUGENE DELGAUDIO President, Public Advocate of the U.S. P.S. I desperately need your help. At the 75th Republic Day parade, the all-women tri-service contingent made history in India, reflecting the evolving roles of women in traditionally male-dominated areas. Witnessing this progress fills me with pride, but acknowledging that we still lag 250 years behind is a sobering reality. Despite strides, gender pay gaps persist, with women facing challenges in the workplace. True equality and inclusion remain elusive, and despite the rhetoric, many women endure mistreatment. However, fostering mutual support among women can be a powerful step toward overcoming challenges and emerging stronger. #diversityandinclusion #india #trueequality #womenempowerment
All women Tri-Service contingent at Kartavya Path. This gives goose bumps and confidence. The reason is simple, we Hindus call power as Shakti. Simply saying power is feminine and feminines have fought the most fierce battles of our history. Be it Maha Kali, Maa Durga or Chamunda. No one has been able to withstand the might of maa Shakti. Another day, another absolute queen crushing it. Not from a hack, trick or 5 day grand promise, but from putting in the work, showing up for herself and practicing hard - no matter how many times I said “again”. (Yes, sometimes that’s all it takes :)) I’m so proud to support women as they chase their dreams and claim what they deserve. Being part of this journey of empowerment and resilience is a profound honour. 🌻 #WomenEmpowerment #SuccessThroughHardWork #MotivationalCoaching #Resilience #PersonalDevelopment #FemaleSuccessStories

Strategic Business Developer & Life Empowerment Coach | Expert in Nurturing Indigenous Partnerships & Expanding Markets
Today, we honor Red Dress Day, a vital moment to remember and reflect on the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Initiated by Métis artist Jaime Black, this movement uses red dresses to symbolize the profound loss felt by families and communities across Canada. 🟥 • Awareness: Each red dress is a stark visual reminder of the countless lives cut short by violence. Today, we wear red to see and remember, to acknowledge the ongoing crisis affecting Indigenous women and girls. • Conversation: Red Dress Day calls us to engage in discussions on the systemic issues contributing to this violence. It’s an opportunity to educate, listen, and understand the deep-seated roots of these injustices. • Action: Beyond reflection, today is about mobilizing change. It’s about community action and advocating for policies that ensure safety and justice for Indigenous women and girls. Let’s use this day to reaffirm our commitment to learning, support, and meaningful action. Wear red, raise your voice, and help keep the conversation alive. #RedDressDay #MMIWG #IndigenousRights #StopTheViolence #RaiseAwareness #JusticeForMMIWG #SupportIndigenousCommunities #NoMoreStolenSisters #RememberTheirNames #WearRed #ActNow #CommunityAction #CulturalAwareness #SocialChange #Advocacy ATCO Frontec
