Throwback to another powerful reminder of the importance of waste reduction and circularity. 🌎 Our CEO, Katherine Shayne, has been in dumpsites all over the world. Here she is in a dumpsite in the Dominican Republic in 2023. The Dominican Republic relies heavily on landfills for waste disposal. The country has several landfills, but many are overcrowded and face environmental and operational challenges. A notable example is the Duquesa landfill, which has been a major site for waste disposal but has faced issues with capacity and pollution. The Dominican government has been working to improve waste management through initiatives such as the National Waste Management Plan. This plan aims to enhance waste collection, promote recycling, and reduce environmental impact. There is growing awareness about the importance of recycling and waste management in the Dominican Republic. NGOs and community organizations are actively working to educate the public and promote better waste practices. The Dominican Republic has received international support and collaboration for improving waste management. Various projects funded by international organizations aim to enhance recycling programs and waste management infrastructure. #ThrowbackThursday #CIRT #WomenOwned #FemaleFounders #WomenInTech #WomenInStartups #WomenCEOs #DominicanRepublic #Landfill #Waste #Recycle #Trash #WasteReduction #LandfillCrisis #SustainableSolutions #RecycleMore #WasteAwareness #GlobalImpact #SustainableDevelopment #TrashTalk #WasteManagement #Sustainability #Recycling

Global Recycling Day is an annual event that aims to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and encourage people to take action to reduce waste and protect the environment. At Englobe UK we firmly believe that soil and organic materials can and should be converted into products that offer an alternative to non-renewable resources, leaving a tangible, sustainable impact. In 2023, we treated over 250,000 tonnes of contaminated material across our soil treatment facilities and waste management operations, contributing towards the 2 million tonnes of material treated by Englobe Corporation worldwide. #GlobalRecyclingDay #EnglobeUK #Englobe #ExcellentPeople #GreatPlaceTowork #ProudOfOurWork #WaterTreatmentServices #Remediation #RemediationContractor #SoilTreatmentFacilities #BrownFieldContracting #EnablingWorks #IntegratedEnvironmentalServices #InfrastructureProjects #CivilEngineering #HealthandSafety

Landfills are rapidly filling up, with no more planned to be built. For many councils in the southeast, the closest landfill is expected to close in the coming years, while household waste is projected to increase by 40 per cent by 2046. In partnership with eight other councils in Melbourne's southeast, we have signed an agreement to divert household waste destined for landfill to an advanced waste processing facility. Advanced waste processing solutions have great potential as part of a total approach to managing the rubbish we produce. Alongside recycling and separating green and food waste for composting, advanced waste processing is a smarter solution for household rubbish than burying it in the ground. And if we thought about the use of Tri’s garbage cans, wouldn’t it benefit us? Moreover, let’s try to see here some advantages of Tri garbage cans. The use of sorting bins has several significant advantages: 🔰 Reduction of waste in landfills: Sorting reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, thus reducing the environmental impact. 🔰 Recycling♻️♻️♻️ and reuse of materials: Sorted materials can be recycled and reused, reducing the demand for raw materials and the energy needed to produce new products. 🔰 Energy saving: Recycling often consumes less energy than the production of new materials. For example, recycling aluminum consumes up to 95% less energy than the production of aluminum from crude ore. 🔰 Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions: By reducing the amount of waste incinerated or landfill, sorting reduces emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants. 🔰 Protection of natural resources: The recycling and reuse of materials protect natural resources, such as forests, water and minerals. 🔰 Job creation: The recycling and waste management sector creates jobs in the collection, sorting and processing of materials. 🔰 Awareness and education: Waste sorting encourages individuals and communities to be more aware of their consumption and environmental impact. 🔰 Cleanliness and hygiene: A good sorting of waste helps to keep public spaces cleaner and more hygienic by avoiding the accumulation of unsorted waste. In summary, sorting bins play a crucial role in sustainable waste management, with significant environmental, economic and social benefits. Let’s do our part in this struggle that we lead and in which if we win we are saved but if we are won we are screwed as unfortunately. The fight continues, we don’t give up ♻️♻️♻️. Tell me in the comments what you think of Tri’s garbage cans. #only_I_go_fast_but_together_we_go_far #only_I_am_weak_but_together_we_are_strong #gestesecocitizens #sdgs2030 #SDGsforAll #reforestation #saveourplanet #environment #globalwarming #sustainabledevelopment #environment #environmentalawareness #sustainableenvironment #cleanup #recycling #recycling Reffrick Mandela Junior Acolatse

Welcome to Day 20!💚 Waste sorting is a fundamental aspect of responsible waste management and plays a crucial role in minimizing environmental impact and promoting recycling and resource recovery. By sorting our waste into different categories such as recyclables, compostables, and non-recyclables, we can reduce landfill waste, conserve resources, and move towards a more sustainable and circular economy. #ICYMI: Task for the Day. 🍀Review your local waste sorting guidelines and familiarize yourself with the accepted materials for recycling, composting, and disposal. 🍀Set up a waste sorting station in your home or workplace with separate bins or containers for recyclables, compostables, and non-recyclables. 🍀Practice waste sorting throughout the day, ensuring that all waste generated is properly sorted and disposed of according to local guidelines. 🍀Share your waste sorting experience and tips in the comment section or on social media using #ECO30Champions, inspiring others to adopt sustainable waste management practices. Waste management is a critical aspect of maintaining environmental sustainability and public health. It encompasses the collection, transportation, processing, recycling, and disposal of waste materials generated by human activities. Effective waste management practices are essential to mitigate the adverse impacts of waste on ecosystems, including soil, water, and air contamination, as well as threats to wildlife and human health. Recycling and proper disposal methods can reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills or incinerators, conserving valuable resources and minimizing pollution. Community engagement and education play pivotal roles in promoting responsible waste management behaviors, such as reducing waste generation, separating recyclables, and composting organic materials. Governments, businesses, and individuals must collaborate to develop comprehensive waste management strategies tailored to local needs and environmental conditions. Innovative technologies, such as waste-to-energy systems and advanced recycling processes, offer promising solutions to address the challenges of waste management while simultaneously generating renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. #waste#recycling #reducereuserecycle #CommunityWasteSolutions #GreenCommunities #WasteInnovation #SustainableWasteManagement #GreenFuture
