Passing on knowledge is a key value here at KWC, creating a culture of learning and up-skilling our entire team so we can deliver the best results for our clients. To facilitate this we hold fortnightly in-house training sessions, in our most recent training Steve, our Survey Manager ran the team through a refresher on using a GPS rover with a base station. We typically use an internet connection for corrections from our GPS base station network, but to increase accuracy and reliability of LT work, we often setup a local base station! Thanks for sharing your expertise, Steve!

🚗🏥 Exciting Announcement: 'Learn to Drive, Learn CPR' Initiative Launch! 🚗🏥 May 31, 2023 Announcements We are thrilled to introduce the groundbreaking collaboration between the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the European Driving Schools Association (EFA) – 'Learn to Drive, Learn CPR'! In an effort to empower the next generation of drivers and enhance life-saving capabilities, this initiative aims to make Basic Life Support (BLS) training mandatory across Europe. Our survey uncovered that while 44% of European countries mandate BLS courses for specific driving licenses, there is a clear need to extend this requirement continent-wide. By joining forces, the ERC and EFA aspire to increase the number of potential CPR responders, bolstering community resilience and potentially saving countless lives. We invite you to support this life-saving endeavor and help raise awareness about the importance of bystander CPR. Let's come together to spread the word and ensure that every aspiring driver not only learns to navigate the roads safely but also gains the skills to respond effectively in medical emergencies. #LearnToDriveLearnCPR #DrivingSafety #CPRTraining #SavingLives #RoadSafety #CommunityResilience https://loom.ly/YLRTeMQ

🦅Hawk or dove? 👩🏻🎓It’s fun to be involved in supporting and shaping the next generation of GPs. Much of the teaching programme is online now which means limited opportunity to meet trainers and trainees IRL and see other people’s workshops. So, I rely more on learning from other educators here (Ciaran Armstrong Dr Matthew Sawyer MB, MSc, BSc, GradIEMA Dr Karan Rajan Lucy Hawthorne Heather Cetrangolo 👏🏽) plus feedback from my trainees on how useful our sessions are. ⏸️ Last year I took my registrar’s suggestion of asking for feedback halfway through the post, rather than at the end. Game-changer! They said they found sitting watching videos unhelpful and preferred interaction. So we ramped up our ‘walking tutorial’ role plays (no objection from me😂), and I still sneaked in one video but used pause a LOT, repeatedly asking what they could see happening, and getting them to pick out phrases and practise rewording them. 💭I wonder what GP training will look like in another 10 years? 💪🏽Good luck to everyone in their new posts, and be bold - tell your supervisors what you’d like to do in teaching sessions! (And I would probably class myself as a ‘magpie’😂) #meded #nhs #generalpractice
