  • Check out what Michael, Brandon, and Steve got up to at the annual Survey and Spatial New Zealand conference! They all had a blast this year, with Mick labelling it the best one he's attended over the last four years! The conference is always a highlight of each year, catching up with other members of the profession, learning about new research and survey tech that is available, and understanding how the industry as a whole is doing. As plenty of others that were at conference will tell you, one of the best presentations was by Bruce Robinson from Global Survey New Zealand, Steven Sheppard from Trimble Inc. and Dr Paul Denys from University of Otago, in which they discussed the strengths and weaknesses of GNSS equipment, and the ways in which we can better apply the use of this technology. The presentation style of all three of these guys was particularly engaging, and it was great to have three experts of this calibre discussing information that we can utilise back at the office, and in the field! The awards dinner was also a great chance to let the hair down (see Brandon is his fancy suit!) and talk some survey chat with old friends and colleagues that we don't get to see too often. All-in-all, a great conference with a lot of really useful and actionable information that we can use in our day-to-day work 📝 #NZSurveyors #SurveySpatialNZ

  • Looking forward to day two of the annual Survey and Spatial conference in Napier! Mick, Brandon, and Steve have all headed down to represent team KWC, hearing from the expert presentations especially the likes of Positioning in Progress – Discussing 25 Years of NZGD2000 and resilient GNSS technology, and of course check out all of the exhibitors showing off the latest software and equipment. Both Brandon and Mick are part of the Emerging Leaders Programme run by Survey + Spatial New Zealand, so a great chance to catch up with other members of the programme in person and discuss the progress they have made throughout the year! We'll report back next week or might even catch you here! Michael Lister Steve Mills Brandon Taylor

  • Great to have a team catch up over breakfast a few weeks ago at Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen! With the team split between the office and out on site most days, we make it a priority to find a time and place for us all to gather before we get into our days. A good time for the whole team to catch up and of course supporting another local business! Looking forward to more of these #team.

  • Passing on knowledge is a key value here at KWC, creating a culture of learning and up-skilling our entire team so we can deliver the best results for our clients. To facilitate this we hold fortnightly in-house training sessions, in our most recent training Steve, our Survey Manager ran the team through a refresher on using a GPS rover with a base station. We typically use an internet connection for corrections from our GPS base station network, but to increase accuracy and reliability of LT work, we often setup a local base station! Thanks for sharing your expertise, Steve!

  • It's all go at Brandon Road! Take a look at these exciting progress shots at another of our Brandon Road sites as construction gets underway. It was time for the three original, well-loved houses to be shifted off the property, making way for 15 new, warm homes as part of a multi-unit development. Great to see construction progress on this prime West Auckland site and we're looking forward to seeing the rest of the project take shape in the coming months! #AucklandDevelopment #SurveySolutions

  • Last week, KWC Director, Sam was lucky enough to be invited to OZAC Architects Limited's 10th birthday celebration! A big congratulation goes to the OZAC team on reaching this milestone in business 🎉 We have worked closely with OZAC on many notable projects, producing highly successful outcomes over the years. Having heavily invested in our best practices, we take great pride in this ongoing partnership fostered on shared trust and great results for clients. A particular highlight was networking with the wider OZAC team, some of whom we have only ever met online. It was a wonderful night of celebration as you can see in the photos! Thanks for having us team OZAC and we look forward to working together for the next 10 years.

Last week the team were treated to a demonstration for a handheld SLAM Laser Scanner and the results were impressive! Surveying technology changes rapidly and continuously innovating and adopting new technology for our work is something KWC pride ourselves on. Because we are specialist surveyors, our focus is on making sure we are the best at what we do and we need to review new technologies and how we can best adapt our workflows. Investing state of the art tech and expanding our capacity to use this equipment guarantees the best results for our clients - a win all round. A big thank you goes to Brandon for organising and Sam for modelling! #Surveying #SurveySolutions #AucklandSurveyors

  • There where you need us every step of the way - from concept to completion, successfully helping our client achieve titles before project completion 🤝 This is what sets KWC apart from the rest, our dedication to deliver for our clients, no matter the challenges because we understand the importance of taking the hassle out of their hands. Take this multi-unit development in Henderson for example, KWC has been involved in securing several resource consents for this street and this corner site was the first in line for topographic surveying. Achieving resource consent quickly is always critical for our developer clients. The delivery of the topographic survey is an important part in the resource consent process, allowing the architectural and engineering design to be completed. KWC delivered this in under a week, ensuring timelines could be met and all the consultants had the data required to deliver their section of work! We took immense pride in being involved in this excellently designed project on a prominent site and in a great location. A highlight was successfully achieving s224c well ahead of project completion and these homes are now being enjoyed by their proud new owners. #AucklandDevelopment #TopographicSurveying #ResourceConsent #AucklandDevelopers
