Building a project is much more than writing code. I'm beginning to see the truth behind that statement every single day. Today, I spent about an hour on a pretty fast-paced but relaxed stand-up with my teammates for the final project in the #PIP3 internship program from Programmify: Sophia Kalagbor, Bankole Azeez Babatunde, Joshua Ayamba, Solabomi Kayode and our able project manager David Adebanwo among others. Our project is focused on building a fresh-food ordering and delivery service aimed at providing users with a convenient way to order food stuffs for their next meal and get it delivered. Basically, Jumia (Jumia Group), but exclusively for fresh foods and vegies. Pretty cool right ? Yeah, I thought so too. During the course of the meeting, a lot of ideas were generated and a lot of insights shared. It was a really interesting time. I learned a lot and had fun. So many smart engineers on the call. But, I also noticed how easily unnecessary features tend to creep into a project during the ideation phase. Sometimes, because we want to build something awesome, we end up considering too many things that we get overwhelmed. We become more critical than the customer and end ruining the product. Gratefully, the team noticed this on time and we were able to nip it in the bud before any serious damage was done. We're gradually getting into the fun parts, but for now we're going one step at a time and I'm really excited to take each step towards the goal. Hope you're also excited ? Anyways, stay tuned for more updates. Thanks Programmify #PIP3 #Programmify

There's something about the Igbo tribe, just something about them. So, within the past few months, I've been getting my hands on a great deal of product management activities. From taking up varying virtual learning courses to stay up with industry trends, to leading the build/management of a few other products too. Recently, I got in with Intern Pulse, where I and a few other product managers were tasked with leading really amazing cross functional teams to build different products. But here's something, amidst all these projects undertaken so far, nothing has really held me spell bound as a product we wrote a requirement document for about a week ago, the "Igbo apprenticeship system". From every research done and information gathered, I began to truly appreciate the uniqueness of this tribe. And oh, I'm not sure i'm one who would pass much for a tribal bigot, cos of the personal theory I have for first seeing people for who they are (as a person) before caring to know the tribe they are from. But then, there's something infused there in the Igbo cultural system. Reading from maazi ogbonnaya on Facebook few days back on how names sometimes are given in the tribe I even see the uniqueness still. Something in their food, their philosophy for wealth creation etc, all aiming to unconsciously remind the nwa ala to preserve his heritage irrespective of where he is born. Truly Igbo Amaka ❤️ #Productmanagement #igboculture

Giant Strides in the Marketplace 🐾 | Empowering Professionals ❤️ | Always Building Innovative Products (CSPO) 👩💻| MBA 🧑🎓
One thing I do when I am stressed out is to see a movie. I recently watched "Afamefuna," an Igbo film that really resonated with me. As I was watching, a scripture came to mind: "And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?" (Luke 16:12 NKJV) The movie delves into the Igbo apprenticeship system, focusing on a diligent young man sent to learn the ropes of a business under an established mentor. His commitment to the role was inspiring; he treated the business as if it is his own, going above and beyond to support his boss, even reclaiming seized goods on his behalf. What struck me most was his work ethic and dedication. It reminded me of the importance of giving our all to whatever task is at hand, not just for personal gain, but for the collective success of the team or organization we're a part of. In my professional journey, I've always believed that personal growth and organizational success go hand in hand. Yes, our work brings us financial rewards, opportunities, and growth, but the real fulfillment comes from the impact we make on the progress of the company and the people around us. Every skill we acquire, every lesson we learn, is an investment in ourselves that stays with us, even if we move on from a role or organization. That's why it's crucial to approach our work with diligence, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to contribute to something greater than ourselves. If you've seen "Afamefuna," I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and how it resonated with you. #professionals #moviereview #growth

🌟 [It’s never been too late to share this amazing experience] On February 16 2023, exactly one year ago today, the onboarding event for batch 4 was held, marking the beginning of my internship journey at PT United Tractors Tbk! 🚜 I can say that the opportunity given to me was marvelous. Never had I thought before that I would become a part of the people management team under Rahmad Hendarto’s mentorship. The division focuses on translating the company’s vision, mission, values, goals, and strategy into an approach that involves the participation of all parties involved. My main project in this program is to create and execute a dashboard for employee e-learning across all branches and sites. This dashboard aims to monitor the learning progress of all employees through the company’s e-learning platform so that they can complete it according to expectations. This strategy is implemented to build a learning ecosystem for all employees to optimize business activities. Through this project, I have gained a lot of new knowledge, such as visualizing data using Google Looker Studio, collaborating in spreadsheets, and creating a daily reminder broadcast to be delivered. In addition to the main project, I am also involved in various series of culture and development programs, such as Onboarding, Mudik Bersama, Halal Bihalal, Pelatih Utama Development Program (PUDP), and many other interesting activities. As someone enthusiastic about new challenges, these various development programs have taught me about the importance of improving both soft and hard skills to always be ready to accept and adapt to any global changes 🌎 I wanted to express my gratitude to fellow mentors: Pak Hendro, Bu Dewi, Pak Mursidi, Pak Andri, CorpU and Head Office employees; the people management team Awurens; Warga Simulator; Core committee of onboarding batch 5; and also all of my friends from batches 4 & 5 that I can’t mention one by one. I will cherish every moment and keep learning to achieve continuous career growth🪴 Here’s a line that I will always remember from people and culture management: “Every organization can imitate your strategy, but not all organizations can replicate your culture” 🔮 #MBKM #KampusMerdeka #UnitedTractors #PeopleManagement #InternshipExperience

"I deleted your comment because of the Topmate part" Said someone who had zero clue about our brand values and the diversity that we cater to. Yesterday, I stumbled upon a post that bashed UG students for offering guidance on cracking a role in the BIG 4 after landing an internship there. It got traction for all the right and wrong reasons. And it's time to understand what and how👇 - Topmate believes in the power of shared experiences. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a fresh graduate, everyone has something valuable to offer. - Our platform is built on the idea that mentorship isn't limited to titles or years of experience but is enriched by diverse perspectives and real-life insights. - People talk behind your back when you're growing big. Every brand gets criticism and we are very receptive to it but for all the right reasons. - Learning from someone who has been in your shoes and navigated similar challenges is priceless. People are ready to pay for the insights they gather. - Our mentors come from all walks of life. This diversity is our strength, allowing us to cater to a wide range of needs and aspirations. topmate.io is not a marketplace. We are just a tool making knowledge and experience available for all. We stand by our values and the incredible diversity that we bring to the table. So, before you make an opinion, take a moment to understand who we are and what we stand for. Topmate is here to stay and we are proud of everything we do. I am all ears to the constructive criticism that you have for us because, after all, we are striving day and night to make it suitable for one and all. #topmate
