How can health system boards make behavioral health a priority? By focusing on the mental health of people, patients and communities, health systems can play a critical role in driving meaningful change. "It is imperative that board members of hospitals and health care organizations prioritize and address mental health in their communities. By proactively monitoring and assessing the mental health needs of the community, board members can ensure that available resources are effectively leveraged to provide accessible and high-quality mental health services. This May is both Mental Health Awareness Month and Older Americans Month, and as such, MedTrans Go wants to highlight the often over looked intersection between the two. 🌍 This World Mental Health Day, let’s talk about the importance of equity 🌍 When we think about the diversity that exists in our communities, we can see how individuals of different generations, backgrounds, family dynamics, etc., often have different levels of comfort or familiarity with mental health treatment. We have many clinical partners that view Measurement-Based Care (MBC) as an essential tool to help ensure that all people accessing behavioral health treatment are empowered to actively participate throughout their care and have the language necessary to communicate their needs. This helps foster a patient-centered approach that addresses each person’s unique goals and challenges, regardless of community stigma or their experience with mental health services. Watch our Chief Growth Officer, Jesse Lee Hayman, and Dr. Elizabeth Connors from the Yale Measurement-Based Care Collaborative, discuss how MBC is creating a more just and accessible mental healthcare system.
