Founder & CEO Madrina Molly ™ | Financial and Longevity Planning Education | #NotYoungNotDone #WeRescueOurselves
This is my current read. I'm (over)sharing because #metabolichealth is one key to a successful longevity plan. The pharma industry tells you that you must 'manage' diabetes and metabolic disease. You can reverse it and get off your medication. How motivated are you to do so? What if the money you spend now goes back to fun? What if you can do the things you want to do and feel good? Full disclosure: I'm lifelong insulin resistant but not diabetic. After reading Dr. Peter Attia, I realized I needed to protect my brain from dementia by addressing my glucose metabolism and creeping A1C. As a result, Fred Elbert, PE (Col. Mustard) and I are doing self-pay Virta Health. (No money exchanged for this recommendation.) On our walk this morning, I was regaling him with a story of my training days and how much we had to fuss because, when I left the gym floor, consuming carbs for replenishment was tricky. I kept having crashes. So this has been going on for a long long time. The reason there are industries devoted to undermining diabetes reversal is that they want to keep making money from selling you medications. What if food could heal you? Six months in, our numbers are now completely normal. And I'm not having any crashes. #Walkingmytalk #NotYoungNotDone #WeRescueOurselves #Investinyourhealth
“In her final, groundbreaking work, Dr. Sarah Hallberg challenges the entrenched beliefs of modern medicine, urging readers to question the status quo for the sake of their health. This book is both a passionate plea and a testament to a life dedicated to healing. Published posthumously, this book serves as Hallberg's enduring legacy, calling for a radical shift in our approach to healthcare.” - Peter Attia, Co-Founder of Early Medical https://amzn.to/4aKN1tn

Hospital rankings, such as those by U.S. News & World Report, are significant for hospitals and patients alike. They offer a benchmark for healthcare quality and can influence patient choices and hospital reputation. However, some hospital administrators question the rankings' authority and importance, suggesting a nuanced view of their impact. Creating a healthier future is crucial for communities as it enhances overall well-being, reduces healthcare costs, and fosters a supportive environment for sustainable development. It leads to improved quality of life and longevity for community members. #unitedseniorassociation #USA #eldercare #FDA #seniorliving #ADA #AI #NIH #patientcare #compliance #hospitals #OIG #healthcare #HHSOIG #digitalhealth #HSS #CMS #assistedliving #nursinghomes #seniorcare #medicare #seniorcitizen #homehealthcare #caregiver #dementia #inhomecare #seniorhealth #kloekorby #alzheimers #mentalhealth

The newspaper industry can learn something from Wayne Dysinger, MD, MPH. How so? "𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒚𝒍𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒄 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒔, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒚𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒔." We do the same thing in the news business, we focus on immediate maladies: postage increases, labor costs, programmatic advertising, etc.. We do this instead of celebrating what we do best, keeping the public informed. I would bet if we were to focus more on the positive aspects of the fourth estate and how we can help grow a community, through shared knowledge, both readers and advertisers would see the merit. I might add, Dr. Dysinger is my physician and I live near the City of Loma Linda, a blue zone. #newspapers #publishing #education
Today Healthly and Blue Zones announced their partnership and officially launched Blue Zones Health. There is great alignment between the work Blue Zones is doing in our communities and through their research of the longest-living people, and the effectiveness of lifestyle medicine through American College of Lifestyle Medicine certification. Since my time at Loma Linda University Medical Center, I have been passionate about the science behind longevity, and made it my professional mission to take a lifestyle-first approach to the way I practice medicine. With Blue Zones Health, I look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in healthcare and help more physicians be able to do the same in their practice.
