Commercially focused leader with a passion to integrate technical insights to identify and deliver value
Great article in Bloomberg by Kevin Crowley this week. I think Kevin captured the timescale, complexity, risk and excitement of this incredible exploration story very adeptly. This is one of many stories on the journey to discovery and development of the Liza field and the opening the Guyana basin. I personally feel very fortunate and honoured to have played a part in what I feel will be a very prosperous new chapter in the history of #Guyana.

Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) executive director Claire Bay discusses promising gold results from the company's Mbe licence in Cameroon with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. Bay explained that Oriole is advancing the Mbe licence, funded by BCM, which involves a $4 million exploration expenditure for up to a 50% interest in the project, including milestone payments based on resource size. Oriole has employed conventional exploration techniques, resulting in significant gold anomalies within the Mbe licence area. Rock sampling and mapping have identified high-grade quartz veins and lower-grade anomalies, which are crucial for building volume in the deposit. Recent results include infill soil sampling at the MB-01 prospect, revealing discrete vein systems with mineable grades. The largest anomaly extends over a kilometre and shows promising grades of up to half a gram per tonne. Additionally, due diligence by BCM confirmed... New pipelines to move Permian NGLs are in the works, but this time the barrels are not going to the storage and fractionation hub in Mont Belvieu. It’s another episode in the ongoing saga of two non-Mont Belvieu pipelines and related infrastructure projects that provide alternative markets to Permian producers: EPIC to Corpus Christi, and BANGL to Sweeny and beyond. In today’s RBN blog, we’ll look at how these developments could affect NGL flows in the Lone Star State. https://lnkd.in/gDWUGACF

The Troll field is a giant, and from most angles a success story. However, the Troll Brent B discovery was not as successful. On today's date in 2017, the Troll Brent B discovery was approved for development, and was planned to be produced by pressure depletion. Troll Brent B was to be developed with one multilateral production well drilled from the O-template connected to Troll C. During drilling of the production well, oil reserves were proven to be significantly lower than originally assumed. It was therefore decided to be uneconomical to start production on the Troll Brent B field. The well was plugged, however, the well slot is available to be used for potential new targets on Troll Vest. #industriminne #industrialheritage #norskoljemuseum #petroleummuseum https://lnkd.in/ep69r_BW

September 10th: First Texas Oil Well Drilled The first oil well in Texas was drilled in 1866. Lyne Taliaferro Barret drilled this well in Nacogdoches County, near Oil Springs. The well produced about ten barrels of oil a day, marking the beginning of Texas’s long history with oil. Although this initial well did not produce commercial quantities of oil, it laid the groundwork for future exploration and development in the state. Historical oil sites in Texas offer a fascinating glimpse into the state’s rich history with oil! #ThisDayInTexasHistory #TexasHistory #OnThisDay #TexasHeritage #TexasPride #HistoryOfTexas #TexasEvents #HistoricalTexas #TexasEducation #KnowYourHistory #TodayInHistory #TexasPast #HistoricTexas #LearnTexas #TexasTimeline #TexanHeritage #SouthwesternHistory #FamousTexans #TexasMemories #thedaughtreylawfirm #realestatelaw #mineral rights #probate #estateplanning #houstontexas #htown #learningmoment

Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) CEO Tim Livesey and chief financial officer Bob Smeeton join Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with details of the company's 2023 financial and operational performance. Livesey highlighted successful exploration programs in Cameroon, at the Bibemi and Mbe projects, resulting in an enhanced main resource at Bibemi to 375,000 ounces. The latter part of the year focused on negotiations with external investors, culminating in deals with BCM for 50% ownership and $4 million investment in each of the Bibemi and Mbe licences. Smeeton detailed a £2.4 million operating loss, attributing it to non-cash items and emphasising cash preservation as a primary goal. The company secured project-level funding and a financing deal with Lanstead, providing monthly payments based on share price, which outperformed initial expectations.
