Crown Centre is the only parcel within Castle Hills that is separated from the surrounding residential and retail amenities. To strengthen its connections to the greater community, we helped rezone the parcel from a single-use office park to a mixed-use development to maximize potential uses and complement surrounding development.

As the first development to be approved under the Greater London Authority’s co-living policy, Enclave: Croydon is at the forefront of 21st century living. Following its experience as the developer of this exemplar co-living scheme, Tide’s planning team supported a consortium of industry stakeholders that helped to reshape the GLA’s guidance for future shared living developments in the capital. Helen McManus, Head of Planning at Tide commented: “We are pleased to see that the GLA’s Guidance has incorporated many of the comments made by a consortium who have first-hand experience designing, delivering and operating co-living developments. The new guidance provides greater flexibility, enabling operators to adapt and change the offering of these co-living developments. This allows such developments to evolve over time as the product becomes more established, thus ensuring an enduring sense of community for occupiers.” Last summer, Tide completed the 937-home development in Croydon, South London, which comprises two tall buildings of 50 and 35 storeys, including 817 co-living homes and 120 affordable homes. A consultation on plans to completely transform Market Square as part of the regeneration of #Harlow Town centre is now live. Garden Town partners Harlow Council are planning a major rebuild of Market Square alongside further development to the buildings surrounding the area. The council’s Town Centre Masterplan identified the area as the town centre’s new hub for leisure and hospitality with a vision of new bars, restaurants, nightlife and other such offerings set to complement the plans. Proposals include several new features not previously seen in the area, including an interactive water feature, useable green space, a rain garden, timber decking and a natural playground. Plus opportunities for street trading and pop-up stalls, local markets, art displays and other events. The proposals are part of the council’s regeneration programme which aims to put the heart back into Harlow town centre and make the local area a go to destination as the future Garden Town neighbourhoods come forward. Other schemes include improvements to Terminus Street, Broad Walk, the new Sustainable Transport Interchange and the Arts and Cultural Quarter in Playhouse Square.
