To mark Local Development Week, which celebrates the vital role Local Development Companies (LDCs) play in building vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities throughout Ireland, Laois Partnership Company held an open morning in their Portlaoise premises. This was a lively and well-attended event in the company’s headquarters, which was held to promote the work carried out by the local development company and also afford them an opportunity to show their appreciation to their colleagues and supporters. The SICAP department of Laois Partnership Company is hosting two FREE information sessions on drug and alcohol misuse at our headquarters on New Road, Portlaoise, R32VY22. The first of these is on Thursday, October 10th, with a follow-up session on Thursday, October 17th, from 7pm to 8.30pm each night. This will be an invaluable support to anyone struggling with a loved one’s addiction issues, so come along to a safe environment to learn more about what help is available. WATCH: Members of the Rathdowney Men’s Shed got the toes tapping at the Laois Partnership Company open morning today with their heartfelt rendition of the Irish ballad, Eileen Óg. Our headquarters on the New Road in Portlaoise was packed this morning for our open day as part of Local Development Week, with many of our friends, colleagues and well-wishers popping in to show their support for their local development company, as well as some new faces who talked to our staff about the various programmes and schemes that we deliver.
