I promote YOUR health and empower YOU to live and maintain healthy lifestyle | Health educator| Healthcare trainer
2 months down the line, I spent a full month in a client's house caring for the newborn. My first experience of staying with a baby 24hours x 30days, performing the duty of a care giver, nurse, counselor, advocate, educator among others... Reminiscing on this experience, I remembered a scenario of a conversation between the nursing mother and her friend and how I tackled the issue with my client. Their conversation span through exclusive breast feeding, immunization, neonatal jaundice, drug administration among others. Let me limit my writing on immunization base on the information I gathered from their discussion. It's so devastating that some percentage of people; not even illiterate nor countryside dwellers are defaulting in full immunization schedule. Here in Nigeria, EPI immunization schedule is free in all government hospitals (primary, secondary and tertiary levels) , so it's not the issue of funds or close proximity to get their child (ren) vaccinated. Some hold to the belief "it is God that protects", "our aged mothers don't immunize". False information from peer groups, relative, religion centres are all contributing factors. Dear Health care professionals, public health advocates, we can not over-emphasis health education, people need to be reminded over and all over again on public health issues. Reinforcement is key! What do you think are other contributing factors to incomplete immunization? #immunization #publichealthissues

🌍 Reaching the Unreachable: Immunization Efforts in Hard-to-Reach, Riverine Communities of Bagwai LGA, Kano State 💉 In the riverine areas of Bagwai LGA, Kano State, where access is as challenging as the terrain, two dedicated men are leading the charge to ensure no child is left behind regarding immunisation. Despite the obstacles of isolated communities and difficult journeys, their commitment to reaching every child with life-saving vaccines is inspiring. 🚤 The Journey: Armed with vaccines and a deep sense of purpose, these two men navigate rivers and remote paths, relying on small boats to cross water channels. Their mission? To deliver protection against preventable diseases to children who live in these often-forgotten corners of Kano State. 💡 Impact: Hundreds of children in these remote areas have been vaccinated, bringing us closer to a future where no child, no matter how far they live, is left vulnerable to preventable diseases. Their story is a testament to the power of individual efforts, determination, and the belief that every child, regardless of location, deserves access to health services. Thanks to this great team! #ImmunizationHeroes #ReachingTheUnreachable #RiverineCommunities #BagwaiLGA #VaccinesSaveLives #PublicHealth #HealthForAll #KanoState #Immunization
