What principles guide your company's direction? Are they good? Are they bad? At Garrett, we paused in 2022 after our last founder passed away to reflect on our history and our values and we codified the results in what we call our "Four Pillars". Garrett's Four Pillars are both historical and aspirational. They are the principles that we intend to retain and strengthen as we make decisions to guide our future. Over the next four weeks, I'll share our Pillars with you. #GarrettCares #Garrett4Pillars

I am, and each of the other 8,999 Flenderans are, immensely proud to work for a company with such #pedigree, #knowledge, #wisdom and #passion for moving the world. Starting with a humble wooden pulley, Flender moved forward with developing #couplings, #industrial #gearboxes (including the infamous FZG range) and the Winergy series of #Wind #Turbine gearboxes. This great history in understanding how to provide a reliable solution to our customers has resulted in gearboxes that continue to ensure a high level of uptime and #availability, in some of the most arduous applications. Over 125 years of designing #gears and couplings gives a solid foundation for the new generation of gearboxes, with the Flender One range leading the charge for the next 125 years and beyond incorporating integrated condition monitoring, higher efficiencies, and a simplified design process! Flender. We Move the World. #Wemovetheworld #Flender #FlenderOne #AIQ #ConditionMonitoring #Metaperform
125 years of Flender – we are celebrating! The anniversary flags are already up at the Alfred-Flender-Street in Bocholt, Germany, our hometown and headquarter. Traditions and our achievements are important to us. But we are set on the future. Each and every one of our 9000 Flenderans worldwide is. The driving force behind our progress is the uncompromising will to find solutions that others cannot. 125 years of Flender also means 125 years of future. The Future Is Blue. #Flender #F125 #WeMoveTheWorld #StrongerTogether

Every business can succeed if you are willing to let go of the things that don’t matter and focus on that which will make your business grow.
🇮🇹 As a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, I've always admired the legendary Don Shula, and one of his quotes has stuck with me: "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." 🏆🏈 Why does this resonate? Because it's a truth bomb, not just in football but in life and business, too. In the game of business, having a clear mission and purpose isn't just important; it's critical. Your employees and customers need to understand the heartbeat of your brand, your direction, and your values for your business to thrive. 💼 Take Shula's Steakhouse, for example. From the food to the service, they leave no detail unchecked. Started by Don's son, David Shula, the commitment to excellence and attention to detail remains unwavering. That's the power of knowing your vision and standing firm in it. 🥩 So, as you tackle your business endeavors, remember to define your vision and stand tall for what you believe in. It's the winning play for success. Forget about it! 🙌 #MIKEISMS #MikeFicara #BusinessWisdom #ForgetAboutItFriday

Associate Professor, Department of Visual Arts & Co-Director Digital Media Studies at Union College.
I’m not a fan of the phrase “favorite student” but I do like celebrating the successess of ALL my students, and after 22 years I know of a few 🥇 and they are the “memorable” ones, the ones who never stop being a student, who know that experiencal “failure” is the only true path to success, otherwise it is all theory with no application. They are often the ones receptive to building an entrepreneurial MINDSET/SKILL SET. Guest speakers spark their imagination, and I nurture their creativity and confidence. I also teach collaboration skills and hold students accountable for their success. The concept of “grading” is fading fast, I prefer the portfolio approach and grade the project AND the process. Students also peer and self assess. The weekly reflection is my usual go-to. And yes, I still have to turn in those A’s and B’s with an occasional C, D or F. If you get below a B it is not my fault btw. Some students (and parents) still see good GPA’s (aka Godly Professor A’s) as the path to a great ROI, and turn to US News and Reports as their “financial advisor.” But a better way to think about “investing in someone’s future” is to learn about what those “creative kids” are up too. News flash, they are not all art students but most of mine are. Granted, less are Art History majors, most are Studio who take an art history class or two! Chris Sainato was one such student. After Modern Art and a paper on Russian Revolution Graphic Posters, he took my Business of Art and Entrepreneurship. I had to wait till after I got the “golden ring” to unwed myself from worrying about what others think and develop this course, yes, I got tenure in 2008. I have to admit, it felt good to title my course with those two words; I can’t tell you the number of times I heard “we’re not a business school, you are teaching at a Liberal Arts College Lorraine.” Some I knew had not yet wrapped their head around teaching #entrepreneurship and that was ok. But the students….that was a whole different story. Class had waiting lists, taught it every other year now every year for past four and may teach 2 x a year given the demand. But I digress….this is not about me being spiteful, holding grudges or complaining or any of that, who has time !? It’s about the STUDENT. And the ones who are happy (THAT is what success looks like) they tend to be the creative, compassionate, kind and dedicated ones, not deterred by the naysayers, the “what are you going to do with an art degree?” kind. No, these are the students who knew that hard work is not a sprint but a marathon. The students who knew it might take a few years to get to the “starting pay of a STEM grad” (also a myth btw). But at the end of the day, I do have “favorites” and they are the ones who make me a better Professor. And here is one such former #Union student. Congratulations Chris. You have no idea how much joy this brings me!! Bravo my friend, bravo! Can’t wait to see what you and your team do next. 🏆🐳🌊⛵️👏✌🏼
It was a big honor designing this collection for vineyard vines and the Head of the Charles Regatta. Exceptional art direction from Jesse Hoffman really brought it to life on site. I was guided by the leadership of Lee Anne Henrico and Dennis Messier. Also a big thank you to Dave Olinger Caley Petty Amber Fulton Nicole Sutliff and many more for the hard work put into the event and the incredible product.

The numbers don't lie, the 49ers are the champion - and Novogradac & Company LLP is the champion in affordable housing professional services. **Be careful about the promises you make after an AHTCC reception! 😉 What a beautiful day at Levi's Stadium with the sky starting off a Honolulu Blue but turning red and yellow along with the fate of the game. What a great season for Detroit. Whoever is America's team, Detroit will always be mine. 💙 #onepride
