The skills that I am hoping to gain or improve from my internship is to gain knowledge of medical. I want better communication working with a mentor. Lastly, I want better focus when there is somebody presenting so I can learn more and get more out of it. One of the main types of technology that they use at Peak Physical Therapy is Ultrasound. They use ultrasound that send sound waves this can help make the patient feel less pain in that area of their body. Almost every patient has Ultrasound used on them during their visits. Another type of technology they use is e-stem which sends electric impulses, this can help repair damaged muscles. Specimen Collection is one of the new skills that I recently learned in my medical assistant class, and it is so interesting to learn about all the different kinds of specimen that can be collected and the different tests that can be done with those specimens to determine if a patient is healthy! While at my internship at Total Care Dental I've learned a lot about what it takes to be a hygienist and the patience and care it takes to work in this field. I've learned a lot about myself and how I best work, through you science I learned I'm a Diagnostic problem solver and brainstormer. This has helped me to know what kind of career I would like, one being the dental field. The internship has really benefited me so far! I have learned a lot of new things that I wouldn’t have learned without this internship. There are things in the medical field that I didn’t even know existed in the medical field. I am very grateful for this internship that I am able to get a better understanding of the field.
