Following the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) recent ruling on non-compete agreements, businesses across various industries are bracing for significant changes. With the impending ban on post-employment non-compete agreements, employers are faced with new challenges in retaining key talent. Our take? The FTC motioned to ban Non-compete contracts. There is still a heated battle ahead. Some argue non-competes make sense for protecting companies from highly paid executives going out and sharing company secrets or stealing valuable clients and staff. But it’s not just for highly paid execs. Some employees who make considerably less than a six-figure income are also subject to these contracts. Some of them argue it ties them to toxic workplaces with no recourse, or leaves them unemployed if they get let go.
