The NHS is asking the public to still come forward as usual for care during collective action by GP services which starts today (Thursday 1 August). GP services across England will begin collective action on Thursday 1 August for an indefinite period of time, and while there may be some disruption to services practices will remain open as usual and patients can make requests by phone, on-line or by walking in. During collective action, practices are still required to be open between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday. It is vital that patients still attend their appointments unless they are told otherwise, and practices should inform you of any changes to services. The nature of the action means that the impacts will vary at different GP practices and from area to area but could include GPs limiting the number of patient appointments per day. NHS teams have worked hard to plan for disruption and to mitigate this where possible to ensure services continued to be provided for patients. Patients should continue to use 111 for urgent medical help when their GP practice is unavailable and if it is a serious or life-threatening emergency call 999.

In June, A4H submitted feedback on the United States Senate Committee on Finance White Paper on Bolstering Chronic Care through Physician Payment: Current Challenges and Policy Options in Medicare Part B. In our response, A4H encourages Congress to extend the A-APM participation bonus, ensure that the incentive for participating in accountable care is stronger than the incentive for remaining in fee-for-service, and accelerate the transition to APMs.

Great tools to learn how to communicate these topics in a simple fashion. Applicable to be used with patients and for students trying to improve their “explain a diagnosis” #OSCE skills.
Decision support tools (DSTs) - also called patient decision aids - can be used to explain treatment, care and support options, and to provide people with evidence-based information on the associated benefits and risks. They can also help patients to consider what matters most to them in relation to the possible outcomes, and highlight the option of doing nothing. A suite of 17 DSTs have been developed by NHS England, in accordance with NICE’s standards framework for shared decision making support tools, and in consultation with expert clinicians and patient representatives. Access the 17 DSTs on our site at: https://lnkd.in/eJu2xNXq

RUMOR MILL!!! RELEASE OF CY 2025 MEDICARE PHYSICIAN FEE SCHEDULE (PFS) CMS just released the agenda for the Thursday, July 11 Physician Open Door Forum monthly call. The agenda includes a review of the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule (it reads 2024 NPRM, but I think that is a typo and should be 2025 NPRM). This seems to be an indication that the rule should be released between now (Monday, July 8) and Wednesday, July 10. #Medicare, #PFS, #PhysicianPayment

My passion lies in reimagining healthcare. If we aren’t learning from the data, then we are, inadvertently, doing a disservice to our patients. At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice we emphasize the importance on effective transitions home in order to minimize the controlled variables leading to a rehospitalization. If you currently refer to home health, reach out to me. Let’s discuss how to optimize your patients’ care and prevent rehospitalizations! #enhabit #betterwaytocare #rehospitalization
According to a report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Medicare patients account for 60% of hospital readmission rates – that’s 2.3 million older adults who end up back in the hospital within just 30 days of their last visit. At Enhabit, we're committed to providing a seamless transition from hospital to home care. In doing so, we help reduce hospital readmission rates, increase patient satisfaction and improve health outcomes. Continue reading https://bit.ly/3yX9Pcy
