Where does all the cork go? The real question is where can it innovatively go because there are so many uses after the bottle. From art, to playgrounds, to shoes and clothing. Cork has circularity. Catch the Cork Collective. #cork #reuse #circularity #circleeconomy #foodandbev #corkcollective

This post is the third of nine chapters where we dive into our approach to creating Good Public Space and explain the elements of our model. Today it’s time for eating and drinking. Let’s take Plein 1940 in Rotterdam, for example. This square, located behind the Maritiem Museum, offers a great view over Leuvehaven but lacks vibrancy. What if it could also feature a small cafe for having a coffee and a cinnamon roll? Imagine redesigning this space with a focus on eating and drinking – what other elements do you think would be needed? Want to know more about how we evaluate eating and drinking in our Good Public Space Analysis? Read the blog post here: https://lnkd.in/dQWAGttd

Kentucky gets more booze Visitors than Scotland, in spite of being a much smaller population than Scotland AND having less Distilleries. Ireland's Whiskey Tourism drive ALSO outperforms Scotland. It's tiny, in comparison with Scotch. Tequila Tourism in Mexico has Books, Websites, Trains. It also has properly-funded, Government involvement. Meanwhile, in Scotland, it's a hopeless, really embarrassing state of affairs. It's all about 'the brands', Scotland doesn't individually capitalise on being the World's best Whisky Country. Many think it already does but you have to think, Scotch is drink named after a Country. It should have unique Training, a Website, Books, Apps, a Network, all funded and benefitting Scotland, not people in Hong Kong. Scotland has NOTHING as well-funded as Kentucky. When it comes to funding Scotch Whisky Tourism, Scotland doesn't. Scotch is a heavily (some say, ridiculously) Taxed, UK cashcow. It's not one that benefits Scotland properly. If you look at the Scotch Whisky Association and Visitscotland's all-over-the shop-Tourism drive, it's laughably amateur and hopelessly under-funded. Nobody is in charge. As the link below shows, its really easy to promote an Iconic Booze Tourism product. With lots of money. That's how. The Scottish Government needs a Scotch Whisky Tourism Budget and Policy, immediately. As Financial results and burgeoning world markets show, we can't just leave it up to the Producers who can (and do) make 'Whisky' anywhere, even though this would need to be the starting point. It needs to be a combined initiative for Scotland, THEN for 'The Industry'. There ALREADY are examples of Big Distillery Players coming together to improve things. There already are several joint initiatives. What's a few £million, to £multi billion Corporations? Some, the Corporations of the Richest people in the World. #ScotchWhiskyTruths #TheScottishGovernment #ScotchWhiskyAssociation #VisitScotland

Chief of Growth + Marketing + Strategy • Beer Market Analyst • Beerconomy & Co. CEO • Thought Catalyst • Sherpa • Advisor & Speaker sharing beer market trends, insights, forecasts, and scoop via The Beerconomist
Ah, the age-old question: what's the difference between a shamrock and a four-leaf clover? It's a question that has puzzled mankind for centuries. Okay, maybe not centuries, but it's definitely a question that comes up every St. Patrick's Day. I can't tell you how many times I've heard “Oh, look at the cute shamrocks!" when they're actually looking at four-leaf clovers. So, let's set the record straight: — particularly, because I’m using both in some of my branding and marketing. So, until next time we slosh some beers … “Is fearr Gaeilge briste, ná Béarla clíste” ( “Broken Irish is better than clever English” ) ☘️ What's a Shamrock? A shamrock is a three-leaf clover and is the symbol of Ireland. Legend say that St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people. Yeah, I think I remember that fable. Each leaf of the shamrock represents a different part of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It's a beloved symbol of Ireland and can be found on everything from t-shirts to mugs to keychains and cereal boxes. 🍀 How About a Four Leaf Clover? Four-leaf clovers, variation of the three-leaf clover and are believed to bring good luck. The chances of finding a four-leaf clover are about 1 in 10,000, so if you do happen to find one, consider yourself lucky indeed. Some people even believe that finding a four-leaf clover is sign that good fortune! ☘️🍀 To Sum It Up Shamrocks have three leaves and are the symbol of Ireland, while four-leaf clovers have four leaves and are believed to bring good luck. It's a simple distinction, but one that's worth knowing, especially if you're planning on celebrating St. Patrick's Day. And I’m so looking forward to day! Now, why do people always confuse the two? Mostly, it's just a matter of not paying attention. Seriously ☘️🍀 But other times, it's because people think that anything green and leafy must be a shamrock. And let's be real, when you're wearing green beer goggles on St. Patrick's Day, it’s s easy to get confused. So, there you have it: the difference between a shamrock and a four-leaf clover. And if you're ever in doubt, just remember: three leaves ☘️ for Ireland, four leaves 🍀 for luck. Here’s to a Happy St. Patrick's Day next weekend! “Sometimes, I’d rather be lucky than good.” — Stephen Carter King The Lesson: Be great today — everyone, and be “magically delicious!” Slàinte☘️! #Irish #StPatricksDay #ConsumerBehavior #BrandAwareness #EmergingTrends #BusinessIntelligence Source: The Irish Spring ✦✦✦ Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Beerconomist + CEO of Beerconomy & Co. with beer market trends, analyses, and news Steve@KingsCrossing.com • Kings Crossing
