Today is Youth Confidence Day - a great reminder of the importance of self-efficacy for young people. Confidence isn’t just about feeling good in the moment; it’s about believing in the ability to overcome challenges, make a difference, and shape one’s own future. When students and young people believe in their own abilities, it fuels resilience, persistence, and motivation. These are the building blocks of success in the classroom and beyond. The muscles of self-efficacy don't develop in isolation. They grow through encouragement, opportunity, and the sense that their voices matter. As advocates for educational equality, it's up to us to ensure that every child, no matter their background, has access to the resources and support they need to build self-efficacy. This means creating environments where they feel heard, valued, and capable of achieving their dreams. Together, we can empower the next generation to face challenges with courage and conviction. Let’s commit to helping every young person see the brilliance they carry within! #SelfEfficacy #EmpowerTheFuture #BelieveInYourself

Despite our increasingly connected world, people everywhere still do not have access to basic resources like #education, especially #women and #children in rural areas. Here at Friends of Mewar, we believe that providing education can help #empower the powerless and nurture communities towards a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting #impact and uplift a hopeful generation of individuals. https://lnkd.in/ePTrJpSU

What motivates young students to engage in social causes? Young students are often motivated to engage in social causes due to a blend of personal, social, and educational factors. Their values and beliefs, such as a strong sense of justice and empathy, drive them to take action on issues they deeply care about, like environmental sustainability, human rights, and social equality. The desire to make a tangible difference in their communities or the broader world also fuels their involvement, as they seek to contribute to meaningful change and see the impact of their efforts. Social influences, including encouragement from peers, social media exposure, and community support, further inspire them to participate in these causes, fostering a sense of belonging and collective purpose. Additionally, increased education and awareness about various social issues through school programs, media, and personal research equip young students with the knowledge and passion to actively engage in advocating for and addressing these issues. #YouthActivism #SocialChange #Empowerment

How can we, as educators, adapt our teaching strategies to better meet our students' unique needs and experiences, especially considering the changes in their interaction with nature compared to our own past experiences? For instance, while I may recall growing up with abundant nature, today's youth might witness its steep decline. Empowering students means acknowledging and respecting their experiences and perspectives. By meeting them where they are and recognizing the world as they see it, we foster a more inclusive understanding. At Green Literacy, we believe in this approach to education. #inclusion #education #GreenLiteracy #nature #nature #environmentaleducation

To create a social work ecosystem free from the noninclusive, Eurocentric predisposition, the profession of social work must begin those efforts with the curricula and tutelage in higher education.

I remain committed to nurturing youth for a sustainable future. As my birthday approaches and I reflect on my few many years on Earth, I continue to mull over the gaps in development that have the potential to enhance the quality of life for all. Once again, I pose to myself the question: it's not what your community can do for you, but what can you do for your community. I seek a PhD or University Teaching/Research Assistant role in Philanthropy, Climate Change, Political Science, Children, Social Policy, or Social Entrepreneurship.
What are you passionate about? While doing my Master's degree in Development Studies, I specialized in local development strategies because I am a firm believer in "local change through global exchange". Over the years, I have had the privilege to work in spaces that allow the communities to shape their narrative as active agents in the development process. What's been more fulfilling is having children contribute to the discourse and shape policy outcomes by having their voices amplified in different forums. Education curriculums do a bit in civic education but that's as far as it goes. Agreeably, more can be done to ensure inclusive and child-friendly policies are passed and upheld. Unfortunately, we continue to witness more children disappear into child labor and become victims of abuse, and we blatantly ignore them while they 'seek' to meaningfully engage in societal processes. Big Q: How can we include children's voices in policymaking processes? #childrensrights, #generations, #childreneducation #childprotection #bottomup #childrenandpolitics

COMMEMORATING YOUTH DAY… In my country, we celebrate Youth Day on 12th March, so it’s a holiday! My message to the youth (in age, at least) especially those in the category affectionately referred to as “Gen Z”, is to be as embracing to other generations as they expect to be embraced, themselves. Notwithstanding the advent of technological and other advancements, which are generally associated with the times, what remains unchanged is the fact that the time that the younger generation has navigated life is shorter than the older ones. There could be something to learn and appreciate from the older generation. There is an increasing call to both young and older generations to embrace the diversity in culture, age, geography, values education, experience and so on. As it takes two to tango, the older generations are also called upon to do their part to contribute to the creation of a conducive environment for healthy relations and mutual understanding between the generations. During one of my academic interactions on the subject of empathy, I learned the power of reciprocity in relationships. The following example was given: A parent complained to his seemingly more enlightened colleague, “ I don’t understand my son, he never listens to me!” His colleague allowed him to runt and rave his frustrations about his son and softly asked, “Do you listen to what your son has to say?” The parent repeated, “Didn’t you hear what I said? My son is the problem, not me!” Clearly, the principles of empathy and embracing diversity were not applied in this case. There would be little or no progress to be made towards positive resolution in the absence of reciprocity in understanding… Generations should create a common space where they can co exist… Let’s share!
