Throughout my internship at McDonald building group I have been asked to accomplish a lot. Some of these things include ordering of products, returns of products, keeping up with operations timeline, helping with the planning of projects, and making sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. Now you're probably wondering how these tasks that I have faced relate to supply chain, well let me explain it. When we are building a house, it takes a lot of different materials to get the job done. We order many different things when building a house, for example to frame the house we need wood or granite for countertops or the tile flooring for bathrooms, there is so much that goes into each and every house. So one thing I have been tasked with is ordering some of these goods and materials and the way this relates to supply chain is that this is considered procurement, which is the sourcing of goods and services. Just to give you a better example when we have foundation of a house done we are then ready for the framing stage, so what I’ll do is contact the framing company that we are going to use and set up a date for them to come and frame the house, after we have that set up I have to order all the wood that they will need to complete the job, so I then go and order all the necessities through first builders choice have all the wood delivered to the job site so the framers can get started and frame the house. So I have to procure the materials that are needed. Another example of supply chain at my internship is reverse logistics, and with many of our projects we end up having leftover unused materials, and so my task is to go through and make sure all the unused materials get returned and make sure that the building supply store gives us a credit back that we can then use on other projects that we have going. Another example of supply chain in my job is planning when we are working on a project we have a operations timeline where we have everything planned out, and what I mean by that is that we have a timeline for when everything is supposed to be done, for example we always schedule the brick layers to come after the framers are done, so I have to make sure things stay on track and if something does go askew I have to adjust out timeline and plan accordingly. While I have accomplished a lot throughout my time here I have run into a few challenges along the way. One of the challenges I have faced during my internship is ordering materials to be dropped off and then receiving the wrong goods when this happens, I’ve had to figure out how to get the right product to our job site and one way I have overcome this problem is through using my people skills and just talking through the problem I am having whether that’s with a co-worker or with our vendors and just figuring out how to solve the problem at hand. #waltonsupplychain #supplychainU J.B. This week, we started with a study visit from the Construction and Technical Schools Group students in Stargard. Engaging with the younger generation is a cornerstone of our approach, and here's why it's not just beneficial but crucial for our business: During their visit, the students examined the intricate process of prefabricated bathroom production from the ground up. This wasn't just a theoretical lesson; the students stepped into the shoes of quality control inspectors, comparing technical drawings directly with the actual bathroom modules. This hands-on experience is invaluable for the students, who gained practical insights and skills, and our company. Why is this engagement so critical? Firstly, it bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, preparing a skilled workforce ready to hit the ground running. Secondly, by opening our doors to these young minds, we're fostering a culture of innovation and fresh perspectives that can drive our company forward. Lastly, it strengthens our ties with the community, especially as many of our employees are proud Construction and Technical Schools Group alums in Stargard. We're not just investing in the potential workforce of tomorrow; we're actively participating in shaping it. This synergy between education and industry is where true innovation and growth lie, and we're excited to see where these bright young minds will take us in the future. See you at the internships! 🙂 #IndustryMeetsEducation #BuildingTheFuture #EcoReadyBath #CommunityEngagement

I work with my dad on construction and I set up cabinets, adding shelf pins, white caps, bumper pads, and setting up crowns and calking them. I wish to own my own installation company and have employees work under me.
https://lnkd.in/e_h_aHCy The link above is the site that I posted at the beginning of my internship to show everyone the ins and outs of what I do. 2 of the points that I chose from this site are about "Measuring for accuracy" and "Planning, scheduling and communication” back then. The site emphasizes the importance of measuring for accuracy and planning, scheduling, and communication in the construction process. Accuracy is crucial as it ensures that cabinets and shelves fit within their designated spaces. Planning, scheduling, and communication are also crucial as mistakes can lead to wasted time and effort. For instance, if cabinets and shelves are incorrectly chosen, the process can be time-consuming and wasteful, resulting in wasted time and effort. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize these aspects in the construction process. #alpineinternships #mountainlandcte Alpine School District

Dear Connection I’m thrilled to share my recent internship experience at Mayura Appliance, the company behind the innovative grinder brand Smart Fingers. This opportunity was incredibly insightful and provided me with hands-on learning in a dynamic work environment. Throughout my internship, I was exposed to various departments, including: Manufacturing: I gained firsthand experience in motor assembly, panel board testing, and quality control. Understanding the intricacies of the manufacturing process, from assembling components to testing for efficiency, was an enriching experience. Stock and Packing: I also worked closely with the stock assembly team, learning how to manage inventory and ensure that products are prepared for dispatch. It was fascinating to see how different departments come together to deliver high-quality products to both domestic and international markets. Customer Care & Marketing: I gained exposure to how the company interacts with customers, addressing concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction, and understanding market demands, especially in regions like the US, Canada, and India, where different voltage requirements (110V and 230V grinders) must be met. Record-Keeping and Analysis: One of the essential tasks involved maintaining records using Google Sheets. This helped me appreciate the importance of accurate data in keeping the manufacturing process smooth and efficient. Interning with Mayura Appliance allowed me to not only hone my technical skills but also develop a deeper understanding of how various business functions work in tandem to achieve success. A big thank you to the entire team at Mayura Appliance for their mentorship and support. This experience has greatly enhanced my knowledge in manufacturing and business operations, and I’m excited to apply these skills to my future endeavors. #Internshipexperience #Learningbydoing #Manufacturing #SmartFingers #CareerGrowth #Teamwork #snsinstitution #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

Dynamic Marketing Executive | Critical Thinker & Emerging Leader | Passionate & Driven Learner | Dedicated to Social Media Strategy, Event Management, and Community Engagement
After working in over 8 different jobs—from selling uniforms to retail, F&B, dishwashing and others—primarily for financial reasons, I’m confident to say that my internship and subsequent part-time position with NTUC Club's UPlay Business Development Team has been the highlight of my working journey so far! This experience has been fantastic for my personal growth and professional development, offering a true sense of holistic development beyond just monetary gains. Here are the three key working values I have learned and observed from my colleagues in my department that I would like to share: • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. My colleagues have shown me the value of working in a closely-knit department. Everyone tries to bring each other up and help each other, prioritising collective success over individual motives. Despite having busy schedules and deadlines to meet, my superiors always found time to guide me, and were always willing to share their knowledge. This positive work environment fostered collective success and continuous learning. • 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. Being between the Business Development and Marketing teams, I have seen how my superiors always strive to deliver the best service to their clients, both externally and internally. They often go the extra mile to provide added value wherever they can, and worked late hours whenever needed to ensure client satisfaction. This has truly opened my eyes to the meaning of being truly dedicated to one's craft. • 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. Observing my colleagues' dedication and enthusiasm for their roles has taught me the significance of finding passion and purpose in work. Their commitment to the team’s goals and the positive impact of their efforts have inspired me to seek fulfilment and meaning in my own tasks. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of team with amazing colleagues and for the lessons and growth I've experienced here. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me. #ProfessionalGrowth #PersonalDevelopment #Gratitude #Mentorship #Teamwork

Reflections from my internship with Keeley Construction Group Today is the last day of my internship with Keeley Construction. I want to share some insights that would benefit anyone stepping into a new position. Some thoughts are my own, others I picked up from colleagues. 1. Ask many questions, but only after you have tried to solve the problem yourself. It is quicker to rely on those with more experience, but it is beneficial in the long run to go through the problem-solving process. 2. Ask for extra work. This is something I heard from Al Dreste this summer. It shows that you are committed and invested in your work. 3. Make connections, but not just within your department. It is valuable to know at least one person from each area your company. Try to make eye contact with people when you are walking around the office. 4. Take ownership of your work. Confidence and accountability in your work will go a long way. 5. Don’t expect to master the job on your first day. It takes time to truly understand a new position. Stay positive and keep at it. I hope these insights are valuable in your career. I am grateful for my time at Keeley Companies and am excited for this next chapter.
