👉🏼 Remember to register for Trondheim Hackathon: 5 – 7 September ✅ EU Sparks for Climate Citizens and researchers across Europe join forces to develop new solutions for climate. To participate, simply propose a climate problem affecting your area, whether it’s small or large, and collaborate with others to find technological or social innovation solutions. ✅ Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) NTNU Smart Sustainable Cities aims to create climate-positive cities and communities in cooperation with public and private sectors, community and grassroot organisations, art and culture, academia and other societal stakeholders. We coordinate several projects with Norwegian, Nordic and European cities and stakeholders. In CrAFt (Creating Actionable Futures), we support more than 70 European cities, their stakeholders and their students, in making their climate transitions inclusive, sustainable and beautiful. The NEB-STAR New European Bauhaus Lighthouse project is one of the six first NEB demonstrators supported by the European Commission, with Stavanger as NEB Lighthouse to showcase in practice how a city can transform from an oil-based to a climate-neutral, inclusive, beautiful and sustainable city in cooperation with its commercial and societal stakeholders. NEB-STAR cooperates closely with the Danish-led DESIRE project and other Nordic stakeholders. In the Re-Value innovation project, we work with 9 waterfront cities, local stakeholders and transversal partners on re-valuing urban design and planning in the face of climate change. In ENHANCE+, we work with 10 universities to explore how we can better support our cities and communities in becoming climate-positive. https://lnkd.in/eMQMWbdF

„So how other cities in Europe work with SUMP? What to do after we realise SUMP?” If we want to propose examples of urban mobility in polish cities, we have to look how the other cities make it and what were the main problems. We are currently in Oslo kommune at the conference "Planning Urban and Trans-European mobility together" to see how projects from national level which are realised in refer to SUMP. Discussion includes governance level of collaboration and examples of transport projects in cities and functional urban areas. POLIS Network MOVE21: Zero Emission 21st Century Eurocities

Summarizing interconnection capacity in a single number is tricky. Assuming physical capacity, this picture shows a very uneven distribution across European bidding zones. 🔗🇪🇺🔗 More relevant, however, is how that capacity is used. From the (very) long term, to day ahead and intraday, over balancing to the very real time, system operators calculate how much of this capacity is available (or will be available when delivery approaches), for exchanges between zones. ☘️"No transition without transmission" is a catchy phrase, but building lines and infrastructure without optimizing how we use them isn't the way forward. That's why the CREG - Commission for Electricity and Gas Regulation - Belgium, and other European regulators, work daily to ensure that TSOs use your (🫵) interconnection capacity as efficiently, as fairly and as safely possible. Because really: what's the point in building interconnection lines up to 37÷ of your average annual consumption, if you only use 1/3rd of that 37÷ to really exchange electricity with your neighbours? 🤔
Look at this wonderful map created by my team at the Centre for Sustainability - Hertie School Interconnection capacity by bidding zone Go Sweden!
