I just listened to Naseem Sayani (she/her) latest podcast on the Angel Next Door Podcast and my favorite quote was “Talent is everywhere, Opportunity is not”. Thanks Naseem for expanding the opportunities for both #WomenInvesting in #Startups - as well as Women launching their own startups via Emmeline Ventures! And Naseem is SPOT ON about women not wanting to fail, so they overanalyze and look at every single detail (just ask Andrea Stephany Diaz and Pablo Lara, PhD how deep I went with my due diligence before becoming an #AngelInvestor at OncoSwab!). Sometimes this helps, but I saw it lead to paralysis by many other #FemaleInvestors. Men are better at jumping in (almost too quickly) and #TakingRisks, and if they fail, they brush it off, and move on. Women can learn to combine their more thorough analysis with some risk-taking behavior and make some small investments in startups whose mission they care about. And if they lose some money, at least it went to fund people they believed in, and they can learn from it and make a better investment next time! (Or better yet, invest in a VC FUND where the risk is decreased by diversifying an investment across multiple startups). #ItsOkayToFail #ConfidentWomen #WomenInvestors #FemaleAngels #WomenInVentureCapital #FemaleInvestors
⚡ New podcast drop! ⚡ (I'm having fun with these!) This might be one of my favorite conversations yet. I had the incredible pleasure of joining my dear friend Marcia Dawood on her Angel Next Door Podcast and we talked about all the things: ▶ Investing more venture and angel dollars into female founders (of course) ▶ Increasing the risk appetite of female investors ▶ Expanding the pattern recognition that defines success ▶ Unlearning all the unfortunate conditioning women grow up with ▶ Changing the world (#readthatagain) Listen in and send me your thoughts! 🎧 https://rb.gy/9p980g Let's change the game. #Community is a massive #superpower for women and we can move mountains together. Let's do this. #venturecapital #angelinvesting #investing #outsizedreturns #innovation #opportunity #diversity #womenshealth #financialservices #sustainability #gamechangers #worldchangers cc: Emmeline Ventures

Just listened to a podcast where the interviewee listed a bunch of thought leaders he enjoys following on LinkedIn.... and they were all male 😖 So here are a few female voices in entrepreneurship who are worth paying attention to: 1. Melissa Kwan, founder of eWebinar. Love her insights on bootstrapping and building lean. 2. Sharon Gillenwater, who sold Boardroom Insiders for $25M. She's a brilliant voice on growing a company with minimal resources. 3. Sarah Greesonbach, of the B2B Writing Institute. She'll teach you how to generate leads while avoiding cringe and being yourself on LinkedIn. 4. Ashley Chang, who runs an EA service for parents. She shares ideas for getting your time back and how she's growing a company from scratch. What women do you enjoy learning from here? Please share your ideas below, so we can get these women the visibility they deserve.
