Recently when conducting follow-up sessions after our girls' camp, addressing important issues raised in the suggestion box. I was reminded of how critical it is to be positive role models for the pupils. By sharing our own stories of perseverance and how education has shaped our lives, we give students the morale to strive for better, helping them realize that success is a choice they can make from a young age.
One of my favorite quotes by John Quincy Adams speaks to this: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader."
What I’m learning through my advocacy journey is the power of leading by example. People learn more from our actions than our words. Even something as simple as how I present myself can influence whether my audience connects with what I’m teaching. This is why I strive to ensure my actions align with my advocacy—it’s not just what I say, but how I live that counts.
