A great question on a call today: “I love the combination of the roles you recruit for, but why on earth did you choose education, faith, and community organisations?” We no longer live in a world where there are many single-sector career paths, so recruitment professionals need deep expertise in multiple sectors, working in a firm that works across private, public, and not-for-profit. But why these organisations? Because they each strive for deeper knowledge, greater hope, and more connected lives in a world that really needs those things. When these organisations are looking for Executive and Non-Executive leadership, they’re not just looking for someone with the right skills, but also a shared sense of purpose and a desire to be in an organisation that adds value to the world while working alongside people who will inspire and challenge them. I love representing these organisations to potential candidates, connecting the passion the organisations have to the people I’m speaking with. And to do that at Green Park , where we specialise in empowering organisations to make more inclusive choices for every role, is a huge privilege and joy. If you’d like to have a chat about how I can support your organisation, then do get in touch.

For the current and aspiring #chiefofstaff - a few summer-time reading recommendations. First, Thinking in Systems by Donella Meadows Institute will show you that everything is connected. The Gatekeepers by Chris Whipple will show you that character is everything. The Psychology of Influence by Dr. Robert Cialdini will change how you think about human interactions. To me, the Chief of Staff position is about: 1. Connecting the dots 2. Being a trusted, mission-focused advisor 3. Leading with humility Enjoy!

Recruitment Advisor ||🏆Professor John Gennard Award winner || HR Graduate of the year Finalist🎖️|| CIPD level 7 Qualified 💫
Celebrating one year since collaborating with North Lanarkshire Council on a research project aimed at improving recruitment success rates through analysis of applications, qualifications, and training strategies. Honored to receive the Professor John Gennard Award from the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation for this research. As someone who thrives on thinking outside the box, I’ve always charted my own path. This research empowered me to develop practical recommendations for the benefit of the community. Today, as a Recruitment Advisor, I bridge research findings with practical solutions to address industry challenges.⭐️ Reflecting on my journey, I often wonder: Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay? Am I wrong for saying that I'll choose another way? I ain't trying to do what everybody else doing Just cause everybody doing what they all do If one thing I know, how far would I grow? I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home ❄️ So am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real? Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see? #Recruitment #Research #ProfessionalDevelopment #Innovation #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceSuccess #HRInsights #Leadership #CommunityImpact #OutoftheBox #AwardWinner #CareerJourney #StrategicThinking #EmploymentTrends #ProblemSolving #DiversityandInclusion #FutureOfWork #IndustryInsights #CareerPath #LinkedInSuccess #strathclydebusinessschool

When starting a new role, sometimes things do not go as you planned. This sometimes happens because leaders haven’t looked in the right places or asked the right questions. We all have preferences for the type of problems we like to work on and those which we choose to avoid. Use the following questions to identify areas where potential problems may be lurking. ➡️ The external environment – Could trends in public opinion, government action, or economic conditions precipitate major problems for your unit? ➡️ Customers, markets, competitors, and strategy – Are their developments in the competitive situation confronting your organization that could pose major changes? ➡️ Internal capabilities – Are there potential problems with your unit’s processes, skills, and capabilities that could participate in a crisis? ➡️ Organizational politics – Are you in danger of stepping on a political landmine? Gathered from "The first 90 days" by Michael D. Watkins.
