LEGACY FAN OF THE WEEK: The incredibly kind, caring & compassionate Kailynn Barrett! She hasn’t written her book yet but I can assure you she is Building a Legacy! 1. What do you do? What do you love about what you do? I am a Co-Founder for The Collaborative, a small company that focuses on building professional networks for all levels of business professionals. What I enjoy most about my role is connecting and fostering relationships within our community; you never know where one connection or conversation might lead. 2. What is your why? In an increasingly divided world, the need for strong, resilient communities is more important now than ever before. Connecting, collaborating, and creating a more deeply intertwined community, is the key to the longevity of the community and the people living in it. 3. What is your personal mission in life? To connect our community, in order to foster resilience and longevity. 4. What do you love about our community? THE PEOPLE!! Our community is unlike any other, and I think we often take for granted how lucky we are to live where we do. 5. Favorite(s) life mantra? "Expectations are resentments waiting to happen." 6. Any remarks about your friends at LEGACY? A prime example of what makes our community great; LEGACY is a step above the rest. The quality of their works, the wonderful team of individuals they have keeping our community going, speaks to the fundamental values of their business. Life truly flows better with LEGACY. Thanks for making a positive impact on our Community Kailynn, you are a Legacy Leader!

Hard to believe we are around the corner from holiday dinners and trick or treating! I love it all though! Whether it's a holiday ritual or a weekly gathering, traditions create lasting bonds and cherished moments that I hope my kids pass on to their children. Share your favourite family tradition below! “Shaping a less contentious family culture” from Family Business Magazine. I would add that building positive relationships and culture is a matter of time, persistence, and constant good-will. This enables the difficult conversations to occur without having parties involved question the reason for the relationship in the first place. Question for LinkedIn friends: have you ever built a positive culture (in a team, classroom, family setting, club) and why was it successful? https://lnkd.in/gZk4UrSF #familydynamics #relationships #familyoffice

So many great takeaways from this post, but one of my favorites is the reminder that our lives are solely our responsibility. No one is coming to save us from our problems. This statement is a powerful reminder of the importance of taking ownership of our lives and the decisions we make. #BurnTheBoats
