I had reached a point where building a personal brand felt like a huge burden. There were so many things to do. - Get good at writing good hooks - Be aware of the algorithm - Sound like an expert who had figured out everything - And so much more Overwhelming. But recently, I felt a shift. - I don’t need that many clients. I only need a few of them. - I don’t really want to create a lot of shallow connections. I need just a few deep connections.  - I don’t want to be subject to the algorithm. I would rather have people on my email list. In other words, I stopped chasing the shiny ‘Personal brand’, and started building relationships. The forces are too strong, though. They will pull me back towards the shiny personal brand again. When that happens, I hope I have the strength to fight them and stay focused on the one thing that matters—relationships. 3 things people see on my LinkedIn profile. (on a first glance) 1. My banner and the message within it I often hear: "Your branding is so captivating, it drew me in and I decided to scroll down!" That's exactly the goal. A message encapsulated in a single sentence and a minimalist brand design that showcases my essence. 2. My philosophy Everything I share is part of my experience and personal perspective. For me, it means being authentic! Sharing my point of view, shaped through years of experience and working with clients. 3. My "family" team I'm surprised by how many people tell me they remember that I work with my husband and brother. Although I mention them less frequently, I am infinitely happy that we are fulfilling our dreams together. This is ME! From my very first post on LinkedIn, I promised to share who I am and my passion for what I do. To me, that means branding with "soul"! Being honest, open, and genuine! So... Even if they may not be that loud. It's easy to be a critic. It's hard to build something valuable. Don’t be ashamed of adding value. The haters & critics won’t pay your bills. They won't get the opportunities you get either. You can achieve groundbreaking results if you stay true to adding value. Focus on those who see and appreciate the value you bring to the table.
