Smart Ways to Cut Your Energy Costs

Yesterday the European Commission announced its recommendation for 2040 emissions targets: a 90% reduction compared to 1990 levels. 🎯 Agreeing intermediary targets early in the next mandate will be an important milestone on Europe’s trajectory to greater #energysecurity, and in strengthening investor confidence in the energy transition. ♻ The #NetZero Industry Act - agreed by the European Parliament and Council this week - is a first, tech-inclusive step towards building a coordinated approach to industrial policy, complemented by the launch of the European Industrial Alliance on Modular Reactors (#SMRs). 🔧 Supplementing targets with improved planning, implementation tools and a coordinated approach to #industrialpolicy will be critical to transition the economy at national level. Carefully crafted national energy and climate plans are required to address citizen concerns and build public support for the transition, underpinned by European solidarity, security of supply and competitive industry. Today, the long-awaited #Horizon2020 final #evaluation #report was published! 🎉 🔎 Horizon 2020, the EU's #research and #innovation programme running from 2014 to 2020 with a budget of nearly €80 billion, made a major contribution to building an #EU society and economy rooted in #knowledge and innovation and benefitted Europeans far beyond what could have been achieved at national or regional level. 📝 The final evaluation was drawn on a wide evidence base with over 1,000 interviews with project beneficiaries, national authorities and implementing bodies, as well as surveys of both successful and unsuccessful participants, combines extensive quantitative and qualitative analyses and builds on a large open public consultation with close to 2000 replies. ℹ Full report could be found here: https://lnkd.in/dKHX2N34
