Celebrating Our Team: Beyond Just a Day of Appreciation At Green Leaf Construction, we believe in the power of appreciation. Recognizing the hard work, dedication, and passion of our employees shouldn’t be confined to just one day. It’s a practice that we embed into our everyday culture, ensuring our team feels valued and celebrated for their contributions throughout the year. This year, we’re taking our appreciation a step further by dedicating an entire week to celebrate our incredible team. We’re kicking off the week with something sweet and communal - a Waffle Bar on Tuesday! It’s a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy delicious waffles with their favorite toppings, and start the day with smiles and energy. But why stop there? We’re keeping the momentum going with a daily raffle for five consecutive days. Prizes will vary each day, ensuring that the excitement remains high throughout the week. It’s our way of saying thank you, a small gesture to acknowledge the big impact each employee has on our success. Our commitment to employee appreciation is not just about these events. It’s about creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported every single day. We’re proud to have built a culture where appreciation is part of our DNA, and we’re excited to continue celebrating our team not just this week, but every week. Thank you to all our employees for everything you do. Here’s to you! #EmployeeAppreciation #ThankYou #TeamCelebration #WorkplaceCulture

Let's face it, sometimes our daily tasks can feel like tiny puzzle pieces. It's easy to get focused on just our corner of the picture. But what if we could all step back and see the incredible masterpiece we're creating together? That's why it’s important to take some time to paint a clear picture of the hotel's brand identity and future goals. Imagine the kind of experience you want to create for every guest, the feeling you want them to leave with. Now, let's think about how each of our roles plays a part in making that happen. Your work, no matter what department you're in, is a vital piece of the puzzle. By understanding the bigger picture, we can all be inspired to contribute our best work and see how it contributes to our overall success. It's going to be amazing! #hotelleadership #visionaryleadership #hospitality

What can leaders learn about team building from wedding planning? There’s no guarantee that a company picnic will be team building rather than team straining. Think of planning your wedding (or of any wedding planning you’ve seen in TV and movies). Was making the seating chart easy? Can’t put Aunt Fran next to Cousin John. They don’t get along. And Sally Cawdry and Devon Brash used to date… And that didn’t end well. On the other hand, Uncle Bill and Jesse Cromwell share an interest in obscure collectible ducks. Wedding planners carefully crafted even the seating chart to lift up the dynamic. Company picnics randomize the dynamic. I’m certainly not saying, “Don’t hold a picnic.” I am suggesting, it may or may not improve morale, team dynamics, and bonding. How does your experience reflect on company picnics (and similar things like happy hours, etc)?

Place is a location -or locality- with meaning. A big part of meaning will be as a meeting places where adventures begin and memories are forged, in the case of railway stations, and very possibly clock towers. Thank you to Mihalis Kavaratzis for introducing me to this seemingly, simple truism on the International Place Branding Association (IPBA) Academy course. Seemingly simple, and yet as place leaders we might too often think only of buildings, spaces, businesses and bike lanes. How often do we instead think of places in terms of creating memories, experiences, feelings and opportunities? Such distinctions resonate for me with what at The People & Places Partnership Ltd. we refer to as the ‘look’ and the ‘feel’ of places. Even so, we can still be guilty of talking more about improving the physical qualities of places, with ‘meaning’ simply measured in footfall. How does it matter to understand that places are made by their meaning to people? For placemakers it is important to have front of mind that changes impact on people’s affinity with places. Whilst place branders perhaps understand more instinctively that promoting places is about experiences, they may forget that residents have feelings for them too! #places #placemaking #placebranding

Lacking the focus and drive needed to finish your next project? Last week, I had to work on a large project with a tight deadline. D-day was looming closely, yet — I was lacking the motivation needed to just. get. things. moving. Feeling stuck in a rut, I decided to be proactive. Instead of banging my head against the same table, I headed towards the Waldorf Astoria with a friend. Not for a leisurely reprieve. But merely for a change of scenery. A new, calming environment to boost my focus and drive. ** Miracle of miracles ** Sitting in that luxurious setting and sipping drinks, I was suddenly churning out work at a pace I hadn’t thought possible. Sometimes, all it takes is an environment shift. Find your haven, a new setting, shake things up a bit. It can be a hotel lobby, a cozy cafe, a park bench… Or even just a different room in your house or office. Your surroundings impact your work mindset. P.S. Did you know that tea totally tastes different in Villeroy & Boch china? #productivity #productivityboost #changeofscenery #shevyfrandcopy

Celebrating festivals in the workplace is essential for fostering a positive and inclusive company culture. These celebrations not only enhance team spirit but also promote collaboration and unity among employees, creating a sense of belonging that is crucial in a professional setting. With many employees living far from their homes, the office often becomes their second home. Therefore, it is our priority to create an environment that feels welcoming and supportive, allowing employees to feel valued and connected. This atmosphere enhances overall employee well-being and satisfaction, contributing to higher levels of productivity and engagement. Recognizing and celebrating festivals within the workplace is vital for honoring diverse traditions and promoting inclusivity. For instance, on Ashtami, we celebrated Jagran at our workplace, bringing together employees in a shared experience of devotion and unity. These celebrations go beyond rituals; they are opportunities to create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds among colleagues. Such events transform the workplace into a community where employees can connect, share experiences, and support one another, even when they are miles away from their families. This sense of togetherness reinforces the understanding that the workplace is more than just a place to work; it is a supportive family that values each individual.

As we revel in the colorful festivities of Holi, it's a time to cherish the vibrancy of life and the bonds we share. From the kaleidoscope of hues to the delightful taste of sweets, esp. ‘Gujiya’ :), every aspect of Holi fills us with gratitude and joy. In the midst of splashing colors and exchanging sweets, there lies a profound symbolism. Each color represents a different emotion, reminding us of the diversity that enriches our lives. Yet, amidst the joyous chaos, there are those stubborn colors that cling on, challenging us to embrace differences without complaint. This beautiful chaos of Holi holds a mirror to our workplace dynamics. Just as we navigate through the array of colors, so too do we navigate through the complexities of collaboration. The journey towards a collective goal often encounters hurdles, as individual ambitions sometimes overshadow the greater purpose. However, at the heart of successful teamwork lies a shared vision and collective effort. When we align our goals with the broader mission, we pave the way for remarkable achievements. It's about transcending personal interests and embracing the spirit of unity that propels us forward. Yet, in the hustle and bustle of daily work life, it's easy to lose sight of this spirit. As conflicts arise and egos clash, the joy of working together can often fade into the background. That's why it's crucial to nurture a culture of compassion and understanding. By fostering empathy and celebrating diversity, we can create a workplace where every individual feels valued and heard. It's about recognizing that our differences enrich us and embracing the unique perspectives each person brings to the table. So, as we immerse ourselves in the festivities of Holi, let us also reflect on the lessons it offers for our professional lives. Let us strive to preserve the joy of collaboration, even in the face of challenges. For it is in working together, despite our differences, that we truly create something remarkable. Happy Holi to all and may the colors of unity and compassion continue to brighten our workplaces and our lives. #inclusiveculture #collaboration

Celebrating National Employee Appreciation Day by spotlighting our newest team member, Diana Lim—welcome aboard! Let's get to know more about her 👇 Q: Favorite architect/designer, architectural style, or building? A: My favorite architects are Frank Lloyd Wright, Santiago Calatrava, & Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I enjoy the organic architecture in Wright’s “Falling Water” & the simple details found in van der Rohe’s work. The fact that Calatrava is not only an architect but also a structural engineer and artist shows in the structural elements of his designs. Q: Favorite place to travel? A: I want to see the Historical Architecture in Europe - taste new food & experience the many cultures there. I also want to see the Pyramids, visit Machu Picchu & Athens. Q: What do you love most about what you do? A: Everything! I love Architecture & Construction; it’s like a real-life LEGOLAND where you can design & build something that is safe & healthy and makes communities better! It’s a platform for your talent and skills to grow. Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received? A: Kindness is contagious. Every moment we choose kindness, we move toward a better world. Q: Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you. A: I grew up in the Philippines & ocean sports come naturally to me. I love surfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding & I’m also a licensed scuba diver—both advanced & night diving. Q: How long have you been with NG+P & what encouraged you to join the team? A: I have been with the team for about 6 months. My passion for Architecture & the great designs that NG+P created encouraged me to join. My teammates inspire me every day to be better at what I do; in fact, I am working towards getting my AIA license. Q: Favorite quote? A: I have a couple of quotes I like: “Everything happens for a reason” and from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe: “Less is more.” Q: What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? A: Spending time with my family, walking my dogs & bicycle riding. When I’m at home, you can find me trying new recipes in the kitchen, gardening, crocheting & playing piano. Q: If you could change something in the world, what would it be? A: Myself – My goal is to always try to be a better version of myself every day. . #newmangarrison #archdaily #architecture #luxurylifestyle #architecturedesign #architecturedetails #luxuryinteriors #interiorarchitecture #interiordesign #losangelesarchitect #laarchitecture #losangelesarchitecture #losangelesinteriordesigner #losangelesinteriordesign #losangelesinteriors #architect
