Really?! I did few HCS projects in #Revit and typed suffix values to all these dimensions manually, until today, when I realized that I can use #Dynamo for that? And just 3 nodes! I prefer to think of navigating my cases in the same manner I went about getting driving directions in the early 2000’s shortly after Al Gore invented the internet. 😉 I would print out MapQuest directions on paper which would identify where I was supposed to turn and when, but ultimately, I was relying on my vision and gut instinct to determine if the next street sign would be the correct one or if I had made a wrong turn along the way. (Let’s forget about the dangers posed by fumbling 8.5 x 11 inch printer paper while driving a car for a second…) Fast forward to today, when our mobile GPS rigidly identifies every turn and move we’re supposed to make on a given route taking all the fun out of navigating our roadways, or in Boston, our now paved what were once cattle paths through the city. Similarly to my MapQuest directions in 2004, I choose to trust my vision and gut instinct when planning my next move on each of my cases. I believe flexibility with purpose is foundational in the law, whereas a rigid GPS route through each of my cases sounds appealing, it is likely to lead me to a dead end, or a rotary that I can’t find the exit to. Cases need to move fluidly one step at a time. A rigid uniform approach hasn’t worked for me, so back to MapQuest I go!
