My latest Substack delves into the recent appointment of Kelly Ortberg as CEO of Boeing. I analyze how Boeing ended up in its current state, shedding light on Mr. Ortberg's potential skills to rectify the situation. Additionally, I share my insights on the necessary steps that could be pivotal in addressing the issues at hand. #aerospace#defense#engineering
#Aviation is being transformed - perhaps even disrupted - with rapid progress towards advanced air mobility solutions (for example, electric #drones for cargo and passengers), and a big push towards #sustainability. New players are entering the sector at a rapid rate, and the future is going to look very different to the past and present.
I put this two-part panel session together with the aim of teasing out what that future might look like (with half of my colleagues, we're going to tackle the scenario of "The Jetsons meets the #AI-enabled 21st century"), and with the other half, we'll demonstrate on stage an approach to grappling with the disruptions that might be coming over the horizon - akin to the strategic thinking I help facilitate for INSEAD Executive Education.
The ultimate goal : to encourage systems / ecosystem and "what if" and "what's new" thinking in the aeronautics community. It's going to be a creative and innovative way to kick off #AIAAaviation!
We are two weeks away from this year's #AIAAaviation Forum!
One of the sessions we are excited about is Executive Panel - The View from 50,000 Feet, where prominent industry leaders will share their perspectives on the health of the aviation industry, highlight the successes from the past year, and outline the challenges we are facing. They will look at the impact of a convergence of technologies that will reshape the next generation of aviation.
Join us for the forum to hear this session’s impressive speakers:
Russell Boyce, AIAA Aeronautics Domain Lead
Oscar Garcia, InterFlight Global
Keoki Jackson, MITRE
Dr. Vivek Lall, General Atomics Global Corporation
Nick Lappos, Sikorsky
Linda Cadwell Stancin, Lockheed Martin
Alejandra Uranga, Electra.aero
Micah Walter-Range, Caelus Foundation

🔍 Ever wondered what makes the gears of military aviation turn seamlessly? Let's dive into the backbone of this intricate system: Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). 🛠️
🌟 Post 1: Demystifying Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) 🌟
As an ILS engineer entrenched in the dynamic realm of military aeronautics, I'm thrilled to shed light on a critical yet often overlooked aspect of aerospace operations: ILS. 🚁
🔧 What is ILS?: Integrated Logistics Support is the secret sauce that keeps our military aircraft soaring. It's the meticulous planning, precise execution, and relentless commitment to readiness that ensure our aircraft are always mission-ready. From maintenance planning to supply chain management, ILS covers every facet of logistics support to guarantee operational effectiveness. 💪
💡 Why does it matter?: Picture this: A seamless blend of predictive maintenance, optimized supply chains, and comprehensive technical documentation. That's the power of ILS in action. By leveraging advanced strategies and cutting-edge technologies, we not only enhance the reliability and availability of our aircraft but also drive down lifecycle costs and maximize mission success. 📈
