Thinking of gifting flowers for Valentine's Day? 💐 This Valentine's Day, before you pick up those flowers, consider their journey. Did you know that globally, 250 million flowers are sold on Valentine’s Day alone? But have you ever stopped to think about where they come from? Just one flower might have traveled a massive 4,000 miles on planes and trucks to get to you. During peak season in the capital city of Colombia, the world’s second-largest cut-flower exporter, 30-35 planes loaded with flowers fly to Miami every single day. That's quite a journey for a single stem. Still love having flowers but want to skip the environmental burden? Look out for flowers grown locally to you or, even better, consider growing your own. 🌷 Interested to find out more about sustainable flower consumption? Flowers Are More Than Just Aesthetic... In my company, our guiding principles are to use floral designs as a gateway that connects people to the brand, ignites conversation, and elevates the atmosphere. We strive to create a narrative where individuals value the presence of event florals in a captivating landscape that will serve as the ambiance for a memorable event! Flowers are more than just "nice to have" pretty organisms. A lot of this mindset comes from lack of education and this passed down thought that fresh flowers are only in the homes of rich people. Here is the truth: Flowers in nature are used to provide nutrients to the many insects that we need in the circle of life. Bees produce honey and bees use flowers as a food source Through the process of photosynthesis flowers provide oxygen and sugar which are two vital components to life If you are an Event Florist like me, flowers can serve a purpose. I usually give my clients the option after their event to re-purpose the flowers to nursing homes or children hospitals. Put a smile on someone's face. Flowers can change moods and atmospheres. Have you ever been in a bad mood and saw or received beautiful flowers and in that moment your day feels a little brighter? Let's always remember that everything on this earth serves a purpose and it is what makes life better and brighter! #florist #eventflorals #floraldesign #floralart #corporateevents #weddings #flowers #flowerpower

Happy Tuesday! As we celebrate Soil Week, let's explore the profound connection between soil and the rich tapestry of art and culture. Soil, the very foundation of life, has inspired artistic expression for millennia, from the vibrant hues of ochre used in cave paintings to the earthy tones adorning traditional pottery. Soil's transformative power extends beyond visual arts, shaping culinary traditions and influencing musical melodies. The diverse flavors of regional cuisines are deeply rooted in the unique properties of local soils, while the rhythmic beats of traditional music often mimic the cycles of planting, harvesting, and nurturing the land. Soil Week serves as a reminder that art and culture are not merely expressions of human creativity; they are linked to the natural world, with soil serving as a vital source of inspiration. By cherishing our soils, we safeguard not only the foundations of agriculture but also the idea of artistic expression. Let us celebrate Soil Week by appreciating the relationship between soil and art, recognizing that the land beneath our feet is not merely a source of sustenance but also a canvas for creativity. #soil #creativity #culture #art #life
