At #samsales, we preach "The Urgent Bird Gets The Worm," and if I hadn't practiced that before even arriving here, I might not be part of the grand celebration that is our FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY today!! 🎉 In the fall of 2020, I left my final role, fully expecting to retire...until a few minutes passed and boredom set in. ;) In the new year, a friend reached out and mentioned that Samantha McKenna was hiring, "It's ten hours a week, fully remote!" Perfect, I thought. I reached out to Kimberly Pencille Collins, our VP of Enablement + Strategy, inquiring about the role, and she said she'd circle back shortly. On the morning of January 26th, Sam, our CEO, called Kim, and said to move forward with an offer letter for another candidate to fill their open Executive Assistant role. Unbeknownst to Sam was Kim and my exchange, and Kim said, "Can I slot in one more candidate for your review before we do...?" Kim emailed me back at 8:38am, asked if I could meet that day, and I immediately wrote back yes. Six hours later? A job offer in my inbox. Two weeks into the new job? An invoice for 44 hours (hey, what happened to ten a week...? 🤣 ) Three and a half years into working for Sam and this team, now as the Director of Operations, I couldn’t be happier with where this journey has taken me. If I've learned anything from our culture and our values as a business it's that magic can happen when... - We hire a strong team where their values and character are valued before their experience. - We embrace change. - We live and breathe putting our clients first. - We live to delight our clients in the most unsuspected ways. Cheers to five years, to the 230+ clients who have invested in us, and to this amazing team. I can't wait to see what we do in the next five. 🔥
