There have been times when vacationers only found their way to Spain armed with a road atlas. 🗺️ Without #GPS. 🛰️ Today, we would be hopelessly lost without a navigation system – but standard GPS is no longer sufficient for autonomous driving. Parking garages are notoriously challenging for autonomous driving due to the lack of GPS, lane markings, and variable lighting. The concrete, built in factories and very homogenous, would typically not lend well for localization. Sick of traffic jams? Me too. Ever stare longingly at the sky thinking, "Man, if only I could just fly over this mess"? Well, why not? I’m all in on making flying cars a reality in our lifetime. And I’m not just daydreaming here, technologically, we’re on the brink of turning what sounds like a sci-fi plot into everyday commutes! Cars that lift off and land vertically (no runways needed, thank you), whisking us above the treetops. Cars that take off and land right from our neighborhood, no crazy drive to the airport. Smart, self-driving cars zipping around, communicating with each other for ultimate safety, basically a giant, organized ballet of tech in the sky! We can achieve this by combining #drone tech with the wizardry of autonomous driving. This could give us skies dotted with smart, self-driving cars that chat with each other (yes, cars gossiping about traffic is a future I’m here for 😂). And here's the kicker, these flying cars would be in constant communication, drastically reducing the risk of accidents. Think of it as a safety net woven from data and technology, where every vehicle knows exactly where its neighbors are at all times. Plus, there’s an accidental tech perk where these vehicles can act like communication network, your phone could transfer data directly to another without pinging a satellite, hello, high-speed data exchange! It better be free! 🤨 I am looking at you cell phone companies. No, we wouldn’t be mingling with airplanes. These rides could cruise at safe, low altitudes, just high enough to hop over those pesky skyscrapers and dodge the odd TV antenna. Imagine the possibilities, less road rage, no more puzzling over Google Maps' “re-routing” adventures, and more time enjoying your morning coffee rather than spilling it in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
