Cerbras, a national reference in the porcelain and ceramic coatings segment and present in the market for over 30 years, is an example in the industry recognized for its environmental, social, and corporate practices. Did you know that all #ExxonMobil fully refined waxes are #biodegradable by commercial #compost? If you take a closer look at our #ProductDataSheets, you will see that every fully refined #Prowaxx product is registered with the International Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). After extensive testing, we have shown that these waxes meet the requirements for the BPI Compostable Certificate. This certification, which highlights the possible end-of-life opportunities for compostable materials, requires a third-party lab to evaluate the compost potential by ASTM D6400. Passing this test means that there is at least 90% carbon conversion of the original material within a maximum of 180 days. While the hydrocarbon composition of #paraffin wax makes it inherently #biodegradable, the #BPICertification confirms that our fully refined waxes will biodegrade by compost within a reasonable and specified timeframe. ExxonMobil has been focused on understanding the biodegradable potential of our products since the 1970s, when waxes were used primarily in waxed paper coatings.
