Working on a 6-month project with Beiersdorf Dubai Office was a game-changer. The seminar at Koç University during my time in the MIM Koc Program highlighted how diversity isn’t just a buzzword—it drives performance. Happy to apply these lessons in my current projects because I know that an inclusive workplace leads to better results. It’s not just about representation; it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. I’ve seen firsthand that diverse teams are more effective and deliver more innovative solutions. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to build workplaces where everyone can thrive. #ProudToB #DiversityBeyondGender #CareBeyondSkin

Thank you Jadwiga Gebski (Savas) My Plan Manager Wayne McNamara for having me and Milo my service dog. Thank you for having this important dialogue. It was a pleasure to present from both my lived experience as a disabled person but also as a professional and Sexual Health specialist. It was such a successful event. The impact was evidence in the conversations during and post event. I am excited to see what else you do in this important space. 🙏🏾 ☄️I have 20+ years in providing sexual health education and training so this topic aligned perfectly with my work and values. ☄️My lived experience as a Disable person and a parent to a disable child plus my professional specialist background in sexual health, mental health, gender based violence, child protection etc help me provide comprehensive and intersectional services and supports to the whole community. ☄️Through my NDIS and disability mentoring and coaching services I get to provide sexual health education to participants both privately and through the NDIS. ☄️ Society has many myths, and the ones around disability and sexuality are usually offensive and incorrect. ☄️As a society we Infantilise disable people by treating them as children or we expect them to be naive and pure or we act like disabled people are asexual and devoid of sexuality and sexual needs etc. ☄️Some of these misinformation include the idea that a person with disability doesn’t need sex or can’t have ‘real sex’. ☄️Many able-bodied people think of sex for disabled people as a taboo subject and rarely discuss it openly due to their discomfort. ☄️Society tends to have an idealised image of ‘sexually attractive’ and anyone – whether with disability or not – who doesn’t meet the standard is left feeling not desireable. ☄️World Health Organization says sexuality is a basic need and aspect of being human that cannot be separated from other aspects of life. ☄️ Having an intersectional sexual health education at all levels of our education system and in the broader community will help with the stigma and miss information about disable people and sex. ☄️Nothing about us without us and intersectionality matters!✊🏾 ☄️Thank you NovitaTech for hosting us and being welcoming of my @mastermilogbla 🙏🏿🌈 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 #disability #ndis #sexualhealthmatters #disabilityrightsarehumanrights

I have learned that in the ever-evolving world of c@nn@bis, "legacy" isn't just a word; it's a testament to the passion, dedication, and resilience of those who paved the way. From the underground growers and sellers to the activists who fought for legalization, their legacy runs deep in the roots of this vibrant community. Legacy in the c@nn@bis world embodies the spirit of craftsmanship, innovation, and connection to the plant. It's about honoring the knowledge passed down through generations, preserving heritage strains, and cultivating with care and intention. But it's not just about the past; it's about shaping the future. Legacy means standing up for social equity, advocating for justice, and ensuring that everyone has a place at the table. Ri comes from 20 years of legacy and I have been impacted by the stigma against our medicine with an arrest for possession - we are both women who have "gotten off easy" compared to so many who's lives are ruined for the exact same thing. It's about nurturing diversity and inclusion, empowering small businesses, and giving back to the communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs. So, let's celebrate the legacy of c@nn@bis together. Let's honor those who came before us, uplift voices that are often marginalized, and continue to build a brighter, more inclusive future. Because in this community, our legacy is not just what we leave behind; it's the journey we take together. 🌱💚 . . . #CannaLegacy #Community #Inclusion #Justice #GrowTogether

Historically, beer brewing was a female dominated business conducted by alewives. As beer brewing operations scaled up during the Industrial Revolution, men took over the manufacturing process. In 2021, only 2.9% of breweries had female-only ownership. An Arizona-based non-profit aims to reclaim women's place in the brewing industry. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gcSzfcGE The article includes an interesting aside about an old paternalistic Michigan law (which has since been repealed) that banned women from working as bartenders unless their father or husband owned the bar. When two women bartenders challenged the constitutionality of the law in 1948, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Michigan statute in a 6-3 decision. The Court rescinded its own opinion in another case involving beer and gender equality in 1976. #womenbrewers #womeninbeer #womenandbeer #beerindustry #womenownedbusiness

From Tiger's Bay to Advocating Equality & Inclusivity: A Personal Reflection 🌍🗣️ Reflecting on my journey from Tiger's Bay, where voices often struggled to be heard, I recognize the profound impact of power dynamics that kept certain voices confined to the shadows. In my understanding, equality extends beyond mere recognition—it means actively elevating and championing those who are frequently overlooked, dismissed, or silenced. For me, it's not just about advocating for inclusive voices; it's about being the champion for those whose narratives may be drowned out by the noise of societal biases. Equality, then, becomes a commitment to forging a world where every narrative, irrespective of its origins or circumstances, is not only acknowledged but celebrated for its inherent value and significance. In this advocacy journey, I am driven by the belief that true progress lies in amplifying the voices seldom heard and being the relentless champion for those whose stories need to be brought to the forefront. 🌟🗣️ #BeTheChampion #InclusiveVoices #AdvocacyJourney #AmplifyTheSilenced

The world’s largest brewer may have lost as much as $1.4 billion in sales because of the backlash to its brief partnership with a transgender influencer to promote Bud Light beer. Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) reported record revenues for 2023 Thursday but said its “full growth potential was constrained” by its US business, where sales were hurt by a boycott of Bud Light over a sponsored Instagram post with Dylan Mulvaney. In North America, organic revenue, seen as the best measure of operating performance, plunged $1.4 billion last year as beer sales by volume tumbled in the region, primarily due to a decline in Bud Light sales in the United States. Beer makes up the lion’s share of AB InBev’s revenue. Bud Light sales tanked after the company’s partnership with Mulvaney last April sparked an anti-trans backlash and calls for a boycott. A tepid response to the controversy from the company also angered LGBTQ+ advocates. Here’s the lesson I learned 25+ years ago: Never alienate (or pi*soff) your core customer. Never. “The best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing.” — Tom Fishburne, Marketoonist Slàinte☘️! #Beer #BudLight #ABInBev #Microbreweries #Taprooms #Brewpubs #ConsumerBehavior #BrandAwareness #EmergingTrends #BusinessIntelligence Source: CNBC ✦✦✦ Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Beerconomist + CEO of Beerconomy & Co., using beer market trends, insights, and analyses via Beerconomy Digital and The Beeconomist ✦ Beer Market Analyst • Consultant • Speaker ✦
