eVTOL and the appropriate technology for this is certainly a very exciting topic. Gravimetric energy density and safety appear to be the most important requirements. Lithium sulphur in pouch format currently seems to be predestined for this. I am sure that the challenges presented by LG can be solved in the foreseeable future. Thanks to AI, development cycles are getting shorter and shorter and will help us make progress here. In my view, we will see a diversified technology spectrum on the market in the future due to different application-specific requirements, particularly in market niches. Occupying this market niche seems to be a promising approach, especially for technology start-ups...

3moI think the most underestimated problem of LiS cells is fusing of sulfur nano-to-micro particles during which a defragmentation and reconstructing cathode morphology from high redox active surface area of nano-sulfur into low active surface of fused sulfur. This is why we grow poly-crystalline sulfur wafer as unitary body as there are no individual particles/aggregates/clusters present in SoA LiS cells but twinned/branched monoclinic gamma sulfur crystals which forms pcS wafer cathode with tailored porosity.
