I enjoyed my internship so much that I went back for seconds!✌️ Right before entering a full-time job, I rejoined JPort by SPeak corp. Here’s other reasons why I did, and why you might want to join! 1. The amount of HANDS ON experience Since day one, the workload has been almost equal to a full-time employee. On top of that, we are a start-up! You can’t expect things to be all smooth. You are the one to pave the way with your ideas. Ex-interns work full-time now at Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Mitsui & Co, and many more as they were put to the test as students! 2. Supporting each other for the better Interning for the first time can be daunting. Working at a start-up? It could be even more! Fellow interns and the CEO are always there to help you. And the way they helped me was also the key. It was always “teach how to fish, not give.” It is also true that I am only an intern, but there was trust in the student interns from the CEO, who helped us reach our potential. 3. Work on job-hunting (shukatshu) while you’re at work! As our company serves international students to succeed in job-hunting, you will get to research companies, connect with fellow job-hunting students, and even gain work experience that recruiters will drop their jaws! Surviving the Internship Hunger Games: Key Dates for Bachelor's Students Hi, I'm Casey, your dependable career ally. With a decade of experience in the early-career talent space, I'm here to help you navigate the twists and turns of your career journey. Got a question? Drop it below, and I'll do my best to answer it during my caffeine-fueled breaks! In the Emerging Talent/ University Talent space, we call 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 - 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 '𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻'. It's like the Black Friday of internships, minus the stampedes and crazy discounts. And the TVs. And the toys. Okay, it's nothing like Black Friday, but you get the point. Why do Talent Acquisition Teams refer to it as this? Well, most Bachelor's level campus recruiting events happen during this timeframe. On average, each year, most companies aim to fill ~70% of their Bachelor's internship roles, including their summer roles, before the end of the year. Why is securing an internship important to you? Well, unless you're a trust fund baby (we can all dream - right?!), an internship can be a game-changer for your career. It gives you valuable experience and connections in your field. Plus, those with internship experience at graduation have somewhat of a leg up considering most entry level roles require some form of experience. The majority of companies will continue to post their Bachelor's openings within this timeframe. So keep checking those job boards! Don't know where to start? I'll post my favorites soon! What happens if you don't secure a Summer 2025 internship before the end of 2024? There will still be roles available in the Spring, and you'll have a chance to land somewhere great!
