Maggie Turner, RN, 2 East, is this month’s The DAISY Foundation Award recipient! The DAISY Award is given to exceptional nurses in healthcare who provide their patients with premier care and compassion. “From the very beginning of her shift, Maggie came in to introduce herself, set up expectations and care plans for my wife for the night, and made sure that she felt not only cared for but that she had a true patient advocate working with her. This could not have come at a better time as my wife was experiencing severe pain again. Due to Maggie’s tenacious focus on my wife’s care, on top of the 5 other patients she was caring for, my wife was able to stay on top of her pain medication and rest as much as possible.
