Do's and Don'ts for Getting Your Song Featured on Spotify Playlists 🎵 Do's: Research the Playlist Curator: Understand the kind of music they feature. Tailor your pitch to show how your song fits their playlist's vibe. Personalize Your Pitch: Mention specific reasons why your song is a great fit for their playlist. Reference their previous work to show you’ve done your homework. Professional Presentation: Include high-quality cover art, a well-written bio, and a brief but compelling description of your song. Make it easy for curators to learn about you. 🚫 Don’ts: Avoid Mass Messaging: Don’t send generic, impersonal pitches to multiple curators. It’s easily recognizable and often ignored. Don’t Overwhelm with Links: Keep your email or message concise. Don’t include too many links or attachments that could clutter the pitch. Don’t Ignore Smaller Playlists: Emerging curators and smaller playlists can provide significant exposure and help build momentum for your track.

The premium Spotify upgrade: Was it really your decision, or brilliant psychology at play? ⚒️ The secret isn't what you think. It's not just about features or FOMO. Here's how they win you over: → "Just try it free" (zero risk to start) → "Discover music based on your taste" (building personal connection) → Hit with strategic limitations (ads between your favourite songs) → Premium subscription now feels like the only logical next step That's the genius of gradual selling. No pressure. No hard pitch. Just perfectly timed moments that lead to an inevitable "yes." 💬 Have you tried this before? Let me know your experience in the comments! #DigitalMarketing #SagarSethi #MarketingTips #Gradualisation #SalesTips #SalesStrategy

My Spotify Wrapped this year was very similar to my Wrapped in 2023... And in 2022. 🎧 I had been listening to a lot of the same songs. 🎸 I don't know much about music. I don't know the latest bands. I don't go to gigs. And I rarely drive, so I rarely listen to the radio. My song 'discovery system' is pretty non-existent. (I think we underestimate how much headphones reduce spontaneous discovery of new music: we simply don't hear what other people are listening to.) 🗣️ This all got me thinking about networks. Here's a thought experiment: if there was a company that gave you a break down of your Conversations Wrapped - showing you the people you spent the most time talking to in 2024 - would it be substantially different from the year before? Or the year before that? 👥 It's easy to get whorled into a narrow network - both at work and in our social lives. We spend a lot of time with the same people, talking about the same things. ✨ And this takes away the opportunity for spontaneous discovery of new things - and with it the opportunity to spark the connections between ideas that lead to innovations. And an innovation doesn't just have to be a product or service. It can be a new perspective on the world, a new way to ask a question, a new way to see yourself. 🎅 And this is all top of mind because I am going to Oli Barrett Christmas drinks this evening. A man who deliberately mixes up his network constantly - and with great charm. (I think also about Ben Brabyn and Tom McCallum who are helping others do it with their Walkabouts.) 🥂 So let's raise a glass this week to the new people in our lives in 2024. And look forward to a different enough network in 2025. Happy Christmas!

I have Spotify Premium which I purchased using a student ID. Got it for Rs.59/- per month (deal 🔥) No ads, continuous music. No limitation to playing songs of my choice. But this post is not about how great Spotify is. It’s about an app that plays my fav music(no doubt) but it’s more about the peace I bought with 59 rupees. The peace & liberty to play the music of my choice, anytime, and anywhere. I call it a “Great User Experience”. Most brands forget the basics and that’s why they suffer. PS: What’s the most important factor for you while building a product? #linkedin #product #userexperience #spotify #casestudy

What a vibe and what a nice feature. Spotify ‘s music sharing on Instagram just became interesting (at least for me). The way it shows up on stories is really good. (Check out the video) My Takeaways: 1. This is a very insight deiven feature update. (Would love to know your thoughts on this >>> Comment) 2. Does this benefits both the platforms? Instagram - Slightly cool new visual content template that might become a trend. (At least for sometime🤔🤔) For Spotify? Here’s the catch- 🤔 -The final video output is without any background music. -You can’t even add song to these type of stories on Instagram. -The only way to listen to that song is via Spotify. Anyone who sees this story and wants to listen to the song via stories has to do it on Spotify, (unless you are someone who will type in that name in another music app - longer route, multi-step process.) 3. There should have been an option to listen to the song on Instagram as well. In today’s content driven world where the attention span is at an all time low - the background sound selection and library are one of Instagram ‘s strongest features(not comparing this with TikTok) Anyways nice song. Do listen 👂 . . Here’s the Spotify link 😅 - https://lnkd.in/gYDQ_j86 #spotify #instagram #feature #product #podumike

Maximizing Resources: A Lesson from a Simple Journey While traveling to my native place, I found myself immersed in music, enjoying a playlist on Spotify. As I was fully engaged, a notification appeared: "To continue listening to unlimited songs, subscribe to Spotify Premium." Needless to say, the interruption was not welcome, especially in the midst of a peaceful journey. However, I quickly realized something that many of us often overlook. I already had an Amazon Music subscription—an equally robust platform—that I had never used. In a matter of minutes, I searched for the songs, created a playlist, and was back to enjoying my trip without disruption. This experience served as a powerful reminder: "don’t play favorites at the cost of progress". In our professional lives, we often default to familiar tools or processes, while overlooking the equally effective resources at our disposal. The key lies in leveraging all available resources, ensuring that efficiency and outcomes take precedence over personal preference. Moral of the story: Maximize the potential of what you already have before seeking out new solutions. #Efficiency #Productivity #ResourceManagement #Leadership #MaximizePotential

Overwhelmed by 100,000 Songs Uploaded Daily on Spotify? Here's Why You Shouldn't Be. Every day, 100,000 new songs are uploaded to Spotify. It’s a staggering number that can make any artist feel like they’re shouting into the void. But before you get discouraged, think of it like this: Imagine those songs as new residents moving into a city. Yes, the city is growing fast, but not everyone is competing for the same space. These new residents spread out across different neighborhoods, each with its own vibe—some head to bustling arts districts, others prefer quiet spots. The same goes for Spotify. Those 100,000 songs aren’t all your competition. Many belong to entirely different genres or niches—like rain noise or ambient soundscapes. Your music is only competing in a small, specific neighborhood with its own dedicated listeners. Instead of getting lost in the numbers, focus on finding and serving your unique audience. The city is big, but there’s plenty of room for you to thrive in your own corner of it. #musicindustry #Spotify #MusicMarketing

🎧 It's that time of year again, Spotify Wrapped is back! But let’s talk about the tracks you didn’t share. Wrapped is all about celebrating your playlist, but what about the songs that live in the shadows? The ones you love but are too afraid to admit to—the guilty pleasures, the wild cards, the tracks tied to your alter ego? That’s where Spotify B-Side comes in. For the 2024 Future Lions competition, my team and I created a Spotify feature and campaign about embracing and unleashing your hidden side—the music that reflects the parts of you that don’t always make it to center stage. This idea came from how music connects us to who we really are, even the sides we’re too shy to show. Because let’s face it, the songs we keep to ourselves often say the most about us. So, what’s on your B-Side? The B-Side Team 💚 : Aryaman Srimal (Strategist), Kareena P. (Strategist), Derin Kavalcıoğlu (Copy-Writer & Video Editor), Mackenna Maguire (She/Her) (Art-Director), Mariia Demina (Art-Director) & Tak Morshuis (Art-Director)

Do you guys use Spotify ? If you're familiar with it, you might have noticed how its playback options have changed over time. Previously, we had the freedom to listen to any part of a song and switch tracks at will. Now, such flexibility is reserved for premium subscribers. This can be frustrating, especially when you're in the mood for a specific song but can't access it without a premium plan. I’ve observed that many users end up listening to Spotify’s shuffled playlists. Initially, I found this annoying, but recently, during my commute, I gave it a chance. To my surprise, it wasn’t so bad. This experience led me to a deeper realization: We humans also try to control our lives just like a Spotify playlist. What if we don’t have a premium plan right now ? Not having a premium plan doesn’t mean we miss out on great music; similarly, not having control over every aspect of our lives doesn’t mean we’re deprived of good experiences. Perhaps we should adopt a "shuffle mode" mentality in life, embracing whatever comes our way! Maintaining an open perspective and having faith in God and yourself can lead to positive outcomes. While some moments may be challenging or less enjoyable, much like less favored songs, staying open and trusting the process could eventually bring rewarding experiences. #SundayThought #LifeLessons #EmbraceTheUnpredictable #MindfulLiving #LifeOnShuffle #UnexpectedJoy #Music #Spotify #Thoughts #Livinginthemoment

🎧 Want a shortcut to launch Spotify playlists instantly? Here’s how to do it in Keyboard Maestro with AppleScript. 1️⃣ In Keyboard Maestro, create a new macro and set “Execute AppleScript” as the action. Add this code: tell application "Spotify" play track "spotify:playlist:1JI7I6aUoNEMt2hsVX6iGY" end tell 2️⃣ Replace the current Spotify URI with the one from your playlist. To get the playlist URI: go to Spotify, right-click the playlist, select “Share,” and hold Option to reveal “Copy Spotify URI.” 🖱️ 3️⃣ Test your macro! Running it should instantly open Spotify and play your chosen playlist. 🎶 Want to launch your Liked Songs too? Since Spotify doesn't provide a URI for Liked Songs, here's a workaround: 1️⃣ Create a new public playlist (e.g., “Liked Songs Public”). 2️⃣ Go to Liked Songs and drag your songs into this new playlist (desktop app). 3️⃣ Use my IFTTT applet to auto-add new liked songs to your public playlist! Get it here: https://ift.tt/Giluvy9

9moWell said! I strongly agree especially with the point about not dismissing smaller playlists. Too often people focus on the big playlists, editorials etc. Obviously getting these is a fantastic thing and definitely something to aim for with your release. However, building momentum by getting placed onto a variety of playlists in your niche is only going to keep feeding the machine and facilitating getting real traction. Great post!
