Liberty Military Housing recently hosted the 15th Annual 'Cause We Can 5K Run/Walk' in San Diego. Over 500 racers, including 140 military families, joined us in red, white, and blue for a fun-filled morning of racing, medals, and a delicious post-race breakfast! Special thanks to our sponsors and everyone who participated. Together, we raised $6,024 for Armed Services YMCA, USO, and San Diego Fleet Week Foundation. https://bit.ly/4eTs5nn "This event allows our families to create family memories and give back to the community that supports them all year. Cause We Can!” – Cindy Farless, Community Services Director, Liberty Military Housing.

🌟 Honoring the Unseen Heroes: The Legacy of Military Children 🌟 These young heroes grow up in a world that's constantly changing, with challenges that many of us can only imagine. Yet, their strength, adaptability, and sense of duty are nothing short of inspiring. Research and anecdotes alike tell us that children of military personnel are significantly more likely to follow in their parents' footsteps and serve their country. This isn't merely a coincidence; it's the result of a unique upbringing that instills values such as loyalty, honor, and a profound sense of service from a very young age. Military children witness firsthand the sacrifices made for national security and are imbued with a deep understanding of what it means to commit to a cause greater than oneself. By supporting USA Cares, you can help keep these military-connected children safe remain safe and with their families. Join us in changes lives by donating today. It's #NationalDonutDay! What's your favorite kind of donut? Let us know in the comments. Every year on the first Friday of June, Americans celebrate National Donut Day to honor the Salvation Army Lassies, the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the First World War to lift their spirits. This tradition began in Chicago in 1938. We "donut" know what we would do without all of our wonderful clients! #GJMAccounting #accountingandaccountants #smallbusiness

What Does Memorial Day Mean to You? As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, it's important to pause and reflect on the true significance of this day. Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer—it's a solemn occasion to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Reflect and Remember: Honor the Fallen: Take a moment to remember those who have given their lives in service to our nation. Their courage and dedication have protected the freedoms we often take for granted. Personal Stories: Think about the stories of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have left behind families, friends, and communities. Their legacies live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Community Impact: Consider the impact these sacrifices have had on your community and the country as a whole. How has their service shaped the world we live in today? How Can We Give Back? Support Veterans and Families: Look for ways to support the families of fallen soldiers and the veterans who continue to serve our country. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply offering a kind word, every action counts. Educate the Next Generation: Share the importance of Memorial Day with younger generations. Teach them about the history and significance of this day, ensuring that the memories of those who served are never forgotten. Participate in Memorial Events: Attend local Memorial Day parades, and ceremonies, or visit a veterans' cemetery. These acts of remembrance are vital in keeping the spirit of the day alive. As we enjoy the hard-won freedoms, let's remember the sacrifices that made them possible. Today, we honor the memory of those who gave everything for the country they loved. Their legacy is our freedom. What does Memorial Day mean to you? How do you honor those who have sacrificed for our nation? Share your thoughts and stories in the comments below.

GOLD BEACH Gold Beach is 1st of 2, of D-Day beaches to be led by the British and was situated between Port-en-Bessin and Ver-sur-Mer the central most area of the D-Day invasion. The objectives of Gold were to secure a beachhead, capture Arromanches to link with American troops at Omaha and to capture Bayeux to link up with Canadian troops from Juno. Similar to Omaha, Gold beach was split into 2 components, an ariel and naval bombardment to clear German defences and an Infantry landing to capture the beach. In contrast to Omaha, the bombardments were highly effective in wiping out most of the German defences. The navel bombardments from HMS Ajax and HMS Argonaut proved to be extremely effectively providing pinpoint accuracy to take out 3 of the 4 artillery emplacements. Infantry landing commenced nearly an hour after the American landings due to different tides. Rough seas made it tricky for Infantry landing craft, resulting in 20 of them being sunk or damaged by mines, however this did not slow British troops much as within an hour they had secured beach exits to push further inland and by days end they had completed their objective.
